Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Caer: I grew up in Southampton, Uk, I was always interested in music and performing, there was always music i could to relate to and feel emotion from. My dad would always make his own songs up and with him being very political and seeing the world for what it was it gave me the inspiration to have a go at it myself.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Caer: This was the name my parents gave to me at birth, Its a celtic name which it pronounces Kai but spelt in the other way. Its been pronounced wrong so many times.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Caer: I feel it could be right to a degree if the people who made it get what they deserve. Not the people who own the sharing sites, And they don’t profit off it more than the ones who create it. I haven’t as of yet.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Caer: Just keep on doing what you do. Some one once told me to be original and just be myself. If you believe in your own music then others will believe in you. Be confidant and we should all feel free to express our feelings.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Caer: I gather a lot of my inspiration from the news and from real life situations. I hear some tracks and gather really good thoughts from that. I produce my own tracks so once i am happy with my final product. I will write up my lyrics and record them straight away as i feel that is were the best emotion is.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Caer: I don’t at the minute i’m currently in the process of setting one up. I use Soundcloud, Twitter, and a few page’s on Facebook dedicated to music.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Caer: I would provide my family a home to live in without having to pay the mortgage, and probably have a good upgrade on my music equipment. I would spend a lot more time within music and a whole lot more time with my two sons.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Caer: I think Twitter has been a good one for me, It has opened me up to a whole load of new artists and ideas.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Caer: I am currently in the process of doing my first music video which i am exited about it is something new to me so its going to be good. I am also looking at getting my self into a few gigs and producing some new music for me to collaborate with others.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Caer: Talking about problems instead of being able to share them.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Caer: When my kids have been settled to bed i have a few hours a night to focus on my music. Im from a musical family so we all can sit down together and listen to new music and different tracks.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Caer: More to come in terms of new tracks, albums, music videos and gigs and always on the lookout for new ideas and collaborations.
