Exposed Vocals Interviews Rusty Gamer

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Rusty Gamer: I grew up in Greensboro, but was born in Clinton, NC. While in middle school i started freestyle battling at lunch with my friends and quickly developed a nice “flow”. When i got to highchool i started performing raps in front of my class about diffrent school subjects. I always was graded and always got a “A” in whatever subject i did. From then i started to fall in love with making music.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Rusty Gamer: I came up with my rap name by taking my nick name (rusty) and putting it together with gaming because video games are a big part of me.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Rusty Gamer: I myself don’t care about giving some music out for free. I want to get my music out there is all. So anything that can help with that is good.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Rusty Gamer: All I can say to those who are trying to make it in music is just stay true to yourself and make music YOU feel is dope instead of trying to please other people.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

Rusty Gamer: I never make plans to just start writing. Instead if I hear a good song it might inspire me to work on my own music.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Rusty Gamer: As of right now I am using social media and Soundcloud to get my music out to fans. (Which I’ll link at the bottom of this interview.) But no band websites

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Rusty Gamer: I would probably go and buy a couple of fast food chains to keep my money coming in

 

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Rusty Gamer:  Instagram is what gets me most of my music views.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Rusty Gamer: Right now im trying to appear on a couple of mixtapes and podcast to get more fans for my fanbase.

 

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Rusty Gamer: If I wasn’t making music I would be working on getting a job in the video game industry instead.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Rusty Gamer: I currently have Twitter, Facebook. and Instagram managers who help me promote on social media right now so I make the music and put the rest in there hands.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Rusty Gamer: My fans should be ready for ALOT of singles this summer. This is going to be my year! So follow me on
