Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Bailey Dodson: I’ve grown up everywhere from a farm, small towns, and large cities in Kansas and Missouri, with Missouri being my home state. I decided to become an artist because I knew it was important to do what you love to do. I always loved listening to music, so why not create it?

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Bailey Dodson: My name is actually what is displayed, excluding my last name which I collected from my grandparents, so I’ll continue their name in glory. The name of my partnership with my friend Jordan, SixDuo, originates from the area code “620” to show where we are from.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Bailey Dodson: I think online music sharing is important in inspiring new artists as well as creating fan bases for those artists. All of my music will always remain free. I do ask for the simple donation of a like and a share to further promote my music. I feel that I provide tasteful beats and in return would like a quick click to support me, which will help me create more to satisfy everyone.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Bailey Dodson: The most important tip to becoming successful in anything that you do, is to love and have fun with it. The best reward is your happiness in what you do.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Bailey Dodson: I study closely to the songs I find interesting and I pinpoint what makes each song interesting. I learn from watching/listening. I actually have no usual songwriting process. I tend to remain very creative and adventurous in creating every little beat and mixing them together to end with a great track.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

Bailey Dodson: I actually have a website in progress, but the best way to keep up with everything is through Bailey Dodson on Facebook, @we.heroes on Instagram, and @baileysixduo on Twitter. All of my song released will be announced on those three social media platforms, but I will always release my music first on Soundcloud, which is Bailey Dodson as well. YouTube releases will begin soon as well.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Bailey Dodson: I would invest that money into my music production in many different ways to continue and do what I love, as well as donate to others who want to pursue careers in the same field who may need a little help to get started.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Bailey Dodson: So far, the only promoting I have been able to do is just sharing on various social media sites and asking for the small favour of giving a like and share. I am also making myself available for live performances locally and will travel to many music festivals this upcoming summer for further promotions.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Bailey Dodson: I am working on many different projects at the moment. My creations will be genuine and different, so expect pure beauty in the upcoming releases.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Bailey Dodson: It’s hard to imagine a Bailey without music, but I have interests in auto mechanics which I’m actually earning a bachelors degree in within the next few years.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Bailey Dodson: I am a very busy teenager, juggling foster care responsibilities, colleges and scholarships, social life, and growing assets almost daily. I use all of the free time I have to make music. I’ve found myself staying up until anywhere between 3 and 6 working on creations. Dedication is key, and sleep is not a necessity to me as I love music so much more.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

Bailey Dodson: Fans should expect making many new friends as my creations will become greater and more well-known. A lot of “bangers” will be released this year of 2016. I’m just as excited, if not more, as everyone else is.
