He’s been producing and recording since 2008, into a variety of genres from pop to death metal, from classical to world music.

He started to take piano lessons at the age of 8 and graduated in 2000 with the title of piano teacher.

In 2000 he was part as guitar player of the legendary death metal band called “Slow Agony”.

In 2004 he opened his own recording studio where he’s been producing local bands, from pop to death metal ones.

After that he wanted to explore more electronic sounds and he formed “A Few Memories” in 2008, implementing loops, samples and synths in the band. They Released two albums
in english and one EP in spanish, also they shared stage with the legendary CJ Ramone and were part of south-american compilations.

In 2013 he decided to launch his first solo album called “Audio Suction”, he went to LA to play a couple of shows. In may 2015 he launched his single “TimEmotion” under 5howtime Music. He is currently working on a new material and doing sound effects and royalty free music.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Legna Zeg: I grew up in Asuncion – Paraguay. The first time I saw a guitar player in a tv show playing so well the electric guitar (distorted), I don’t remember the name of the show and the guitar player.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Legna Zeg: Well, it’s just my original name backwards: Angel – Legna, so I consider myself a rebel person, and I grew up listening to rock and roll, so that’s why I decided to put it in that way plus the fact I like how the G following by the N sound in french.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Legna Zeg: Well, it is a good way to get exposure and I think it’s right if the artist give it away for free and give permission to share it, I’m not too sure about it, but I think when something is not a physic thing some people tend to think it’s less valuable and made they think it’s is too easy to do it, which in this case is music, and I think it’s not right, Yes, I gave up and I’m still giving away my first album for free for promotional purposes, I ask people to sign to my mailing list to get it for free.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Legna Zeg: Well, the best way for me is going to local band’s gigs, make some friends, networking, talking to them, telling them you play as well or you have a band, or doing your own shows inviting local bands, have a facebook fan page and soundcloud, invite people to listen to your music so if they like what they hear, they can go to your show in the future.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Legna Zeg: I think when I listen to a lot of artists from different genres. My usual songwriting process starts in my smart phone when I record the ideas that just come to my mind, so it’s really usefull, cannot live without it, it usually starts with the melody, after that I go to the computer and write some chords that can work with that melody and then start playing with sounds, sometimes I just know how they should sound, and sometimes I leave it randomly at least I know what’s the exact genre I’m looking for, then I play a little with the structure and finally, when I think everything is right I finish it mixing all the instruments and voices if they are any.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

Legna Zeg: Yeah, it’s www.legnazeg.com. I use Soundcloud, YouTube, Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify, Wix, Reverbnation and Beatstars.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Legna Zeg: Well, that’s kinda lot of money, I’d probably buy gears, write songs and mount some cool mini-festivals.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Legna Zeg: Putting my songs on soundcloud groups, also in my facebook fanpage and paying some advertising, also do the same with youtube. I think right now facebooks is really working cause you can target your audience very well, and I think it’s not too expensive.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Legna Zeg: Yeah, I’m excited cause I’m about to launch my second EDM album that will have my first Hardstyle track plus dubstep and DnB ones, also I’m planning to launch by the end of the year an album with female voices which will contain different genres as pop, dubstep, electro-pop, dream pop and more. And next year a metal album.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Legna Zeg: Wow, maybe just recording music, or being a psychologist, hahaha.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Legna Zeg: Well, I think the key is to be organized.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

Legna Zeg: It’s a year full of new projects, new music in different genres are coming, from metal to pop, cinematic to edm, also I just joined a Gothic/Power metal band as guitar player called Zeitgeist which is going to launch a new album, so I hope they keep and eye on my official site and different social networks. I’m pretty excited, 2016 is rocking hard for sure!.
