Controlled Chaos is an aspiring hip hop artist from Brentwood, New York. With his profound love and knowledge of hip hop ,Controlled Chaos began rhyming at his jobs as a truck driver and at the age of 25 he made the decision to pursue a career in hip hop.
Controlled Chaos with his use of strong lyrics, boom bap style, and storytelling abilities in late 2015 released his debut mixtape “Rowdys Revenge”
With the help of his fellow Brentwood artist Way Waters, Chaos unleashed 10 songs focusing on issues including following dreams, struggles with Bi Polar disorder, love, coming of age, and fun freestyles to show his lyrical nature.
Controlled Chaos is open with his Bi Polar diagnosis in 2014, and considers himself an advocate to the issues regarding mental health, use of medication, and therapy through creativity.
With his sophomore mixtape “REDEMPTION” to be released in early 2016, Controlled Chaos is out to prove that he is a top lyricist in today’s genre. Already over 1800 views on YouTube and soundcloud combined in just a short few months, Controlled Chaos plans to take his music to the stage by year end

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Controlled Chaos: I grew up in Brentwood,NY right on Long Island, artists like Craig Mack and Eric Sermon also came from here. I was always drawn in to hip hop. First song I ever heard was from DMX and I’ve been borderline addicted to it ever since.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Controlled Chaos: Controlled Chaos came from a brainstorm my girl Keri and I had. In 2014 I was diagnosed with Bi Polar and I wanted a name that can be an advocate for that. I control the chaos within me and expose it through my music.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Controlled Chaos: I appreciate music in itself. Any one person hearing my music and enjoying it is amazing. Promotional value has been big in my career so far. Of course money comes into play, having want to be heard comes at an expense and it will catapult my progression in being recognized. For now I’m going to enjoy giving the fans of my music the experience at no cost.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Controlled Chaos : Underground hip hop always starts local, you have to keep putting your music out there through all outlets. Research local venues, use social media to your advantage, and don’t be afraid to make connections with other people. The biggest thing I can say is if you can handle the empty rooms at first, big crowds will follow. Just continuously broadcast your art.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Controlled Chaos: It all started at my jobs. I’ve been a truck driver and on down times I’d freestyle for fun with other guys and potential was noticed. I began writing in my notebook, record it on my phone, memorize it and put it on wax. Everyday I just throw my headphones on and go into a zone.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Controlled Chaos: There is no time off, I have to write everyday and just put these ideas on paper. Music has been my therapist and I want respect as a top lyricist. So until that respect is there, the half million dollars goes into fulfilling my dreams, making the name Controlled chaos known.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Controlled Chaos: I’ve been very involved with Soundcloud and YouTube. Of course, normal social media outlets but I love just putting my music out there and letting word of mouth take over such as it did for my song Redemption (https://youtu.be/1j4UxuWMMwQ)
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Controlled Chaos: My new mix tape REDEMPTION will be out in the next few months, I already have some songs recorded on Soundcloud and YouTube and then I’m on to my third mix tape “I Won” . I’m going to keep bringing the Chaos and take my music to the stage.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Controlled Chaos: Thankfully I am making music, because this is my life. Honestly I love writing and rhyming. Maybe I’d be a writer of some sort.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Controlled Chaos: Its difficult but there’s always time to work on your goals. No one should give 8 hours a day to someone else and go home to stay stagnant. If you truly want something……. There’s always time.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Controlled Chaos: Look for more Chaos, because I’m not letting up. I want to prove that my lyrics can be on par with the best. I have so many ideas and I’m still improving. My stream of songs are going to be continuous. I’m going to take my music to the stage along with my partner Way Waters and bring the best for my fans.
