Exposed Vocals Interviews L’B

L’B is a hip hop artist from cape town, South Africa. He grew up with his grandmother in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa, as everyone has a hobby his was just to listen to music after doing house chores, He writes and produce his music and in addition to that he has his own producer who produces most of his music.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

L’B: I grew up in the Eastern Cape a town called Peddie. For the love of music and also wanted to bring something fresh in the music business.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

L’B: Its simply an abbreviation of my name Lubabalo. Knowing that my name has a meaning, which is “BLESSING”, so i thought i should go with my birth name and it represents me as an individual.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

L’B: Its a good thing because my fans and everybody else get to comment and give me feedback. No, its because I’m trying to make a living out of it.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

L’B: Firstly is to market yourself and your music, attend local events and do some networking and get contacts.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

L’B:  From my life experiences and what I go through on a daily basis. Firstly I produce the beat and get the feel of it, I start to drop some lines and everything flows and comes together.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

L’B: Go on a vacation. Buy myself a house, build my own studio, use some of the money to promote my music and invest whats left of it

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

L’B: Radio, local newspaper and social media. Radio and local newspapers.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

L’B : Im currently working on my upcoming single (all i see) and working on a feature with BADFELLAZ

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

L’B : Studying sound engineering

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

L’B: Time management and trying to stay on top of my game.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

L’B: More of L’B, and more releases this year, some few features with BADFELLAZ, mid year got a huge event coming up so look out for that
