Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What
made you decide to become an artist?
SuppaAnt: I was born in Oakland California at Summit hospital, I grew
up in Modesto California. The thought of me changing my families lives
and how we were brought up made me want to become an artist because I
had so much too talk about throughout my life and I still do, and the
way Tupac rapped about his life inspired me to do music.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your
inspiration behind it?
SuppaAnt: When I was younger my brother and his friends use to call
me little Suppa because they called my brother Suppa Dave and I looked
up to my brother so as I got older my street name changed to SuppaAnt
and I carried it on to my music.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you
ever give your music away for free? Why?
SuppaAnt: I think that online music sharing is a good way of networking.
I tend to give a lot of my music away for free because the point is to
get someone to hear what I have to say and hopefully feel where I’m
coming from and if not then at least they heard what I had to say.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any
smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some
tips?
SuppaAnt: I’m not that big myself but my best advice would be to
never give up on your dreams no matter what any one says with god
first all things are possible
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration?
What is your usual songwriting process?
SuppaAnt: I get my inspiration from the things I’ve been through in my
life and just being here today to tell my story I’ve been shot at the
age of 18 for hanging with the wrong crowd and God spared my life and
I’m blessed to be here, so I’m going to continue to reach out to the
youth and let them know I’m here and I can relate to them because my
life wasn’t perfect but we go through our trials and tribulations for
a reason what don’t make us wont break us and my father not being in
my life for 23 years actually helps me write from a deeper place.
I usually would just play a few beats put my head phones on and just
feel the beats out and see which beat I’m feeling the most and then I
just freestyle a little bit but I talk about real situations or events
that occurred.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year
off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
SuppaAnt: If I was given half a million dollars and a year off , I
would first buy my mom her own home someplace nice next I would by
myself a place and do something for the community too give back and I
also would buy myself a studio so I can have access to a studio at all
times and I would live a normal life and do what I love which is write
music. so I would most definitely ensure myself to spend it very
wisely.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works
best for you?
SuppaAnt: I usually go on my reverbnation account and just promote my
music or soundcloud or twitter or YouTube or even Facebook I would
just share a song on my page and let people listen to it and give me
back feed back. you can never forget to put in the footwork, sometimes
it helps to sign up for events and make sure u can make it because u
never know whose gonna be there or who you will meet.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you
want to talk about?
SuppaAnt: well at the moment I’m working on a new project called Trap
Soulz but that’s all you get at the moment until I release the album.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
SuppaAnt: If I wasn’t making music I would more then likely be more
focused on another career and still attending school because iv
already done all the things I could do as a young man to get myself in
trouble and it hasn’t got me any where but in trouble and its not
worth the trouble.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities
while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
SuppaAnt: I take things day by day so I won’t get overwhelmed or
stressed out, but I always manage to get my responsibilities took care
of so I can have time to do my music.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
SuppaAnt: Fans should look forward to seeing more of Suppa Ant and
more of my music releasing and just keeping an eye out on me because
2016 is my year and I’m not going to stop doing what I love or what my
fans love which is my music and as long as I’m breathing here on this
earth I’m going to continue to do my music
