Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

 

I received a message on Twitter from exposed vocals requesting an interview which I was happy to do.

 

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

I grew up in Stanwell near London Heathrow it all started when I was 13 in my bedroom my dad would be downstairs listening to various different artists : the prodigy, Eminem, Coldplay and others I remember I really wanted Eminems Marshall Mathers LP because of one song STAN this song made me want to make music the emotion and passion I could feel through this song was intense and I wanted people to get the same reaction from my music in the future. Then I was introduced to uk grime music through SBTV and loved to watch other artists do there thing on the channel this inspired me more and more then I met others like me local and that’s when it really started from then I’ve been writing my own music went to youth clubs and used there studios to show others my new bars (lyrics) by the time I was 15 I knew this is what I wanted to do.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

 

I came up with the name 2HiGH because  my friend was a graffiti artist and called himself tubig I then thought of 2HiGH also my birthday is on the 2nd of February so I always considered that aswell.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

I think online sharing is a good idea you can spread your music easily and yes I do give away most of my music for free because you have to give some to get some back later.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

keep moving be yourself and always be opened minded expect the unexpected you could have nothing one minute and everything the next it’s about staying strong in any situation and showing that no matter what your going to do keep making music show that you dedicated and have passion who can look away?

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

 

yes we all make mistakes you have to keep going don’t stop people will show respect for you if you give up what do you expect to happen?

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

 

hopefully one day I will get to go on tour and show people around the country even world my music until then I’m dreaming haha

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

I will either be inspired by anything just being outside looking around writing ideas down when I’m on the train, bus etc or I will listen to music mostly instrumentals that will give me an idea or story to write about.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

I use most platforms for my music BANDCAMP, SOUNDCLOUD, FACEBOOK, TWITTER and YOUTUBE are ones I use the most.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

 

I can’t say that I have any really embarrassing songs tbh its and drum and bass grime hiphop dub step and rap

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

I would set myself a business up so can create more income and also put some in an account to gain interest otherwise I would go on holidays have fun and invest the rest into my music new software equipment etc.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

 

the studio could always be upgraded  as new software and equipment comes out all the time at the moment we use a £150 microphone and a MacBook Pro nothing amazing but we’re working on it!

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

mostly social media and online sharing platforms I find that the easiest way to spread my music and get people to listen plus you get feedback.

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

 

I would perform in the 02 area U.K as its my home country and one of the biggest venues I’m aware of I’m London and artists it would have to be devlin, plan b or Eminem biggest inspirations.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

I’m working on an ep called coming down with 4 tracks on have some idea for song but nothing official yet just the fact I’m doing the ep is.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Artist: I don’t know I also work doing plastering/building so probably that but that’s not an option I need to make music it’s my passion

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

 

the Marshall Mathers LP it just opened my eyes and made me want to make my own music that could inspire others.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

It’s hard to make music when you have so much other stuff going on like work family problems having a break and just being with friends it all gets in the way but I still manage it somehow nobody said it was easy.

 

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

I would say fans should look forward to a lot more content and videos as this is the real start of my music career now I’m starting to produce and make my career official just keep watch.
