Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

 

Exposed Vocals actually followed me on twitter and contacted me through direct message. I also decided because it would be good for my music and give my music some extra exposure.

 

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

I grew up in Australia. What made me decide to become an artist is that it all just came within time that music was an escape from reality for me. It gave me some time to loosen up.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

There was really no inspiration behind it. It’s just basically my name haha.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Online music sharing is a good way of getting exposure and sharing your talent and also what you have to offer. I give away all of my music for free to my listeners. I do this because I don’t earn an income and I want others to be able to have at least a copy of my music whether it be a song they like or maybe a form of inspiration.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

The important thing is to believe in yourself, when I first started out, my vocals weren’t all that strong. It took some time to bring my vocals back to the way they used to be because I hadn’t been singing for so long. I also urge that you find your own style and also the types of music that your vocals match with. Choose songs that go well with your vocals and also don’t be scared to try new things.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

 

Yes I do make mistakes, and a way I deal with them are to just keep going on in hope that no one would notice; and in the end no one realises.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

 

No, I do not tour.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

I first come up with some lyrics, and then I start to integrate chords. It’s a long process, however I haven’t really released any of my originals.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

 

I’m not sure as there are a variety of genres I listen to. I wouldn’t say there are embarrassing songs at all.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

I would buy a car and some better recording equipipment and some studio equipment, setup a studio to record and then maybe spend the rest on personal use.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

 

I’m currently working with Logic Pro X and a cheap USB microphone that I got from a game and surprisingly my music sounds studio quality. I’m looking into upgrading my microphone and some other equipment when I have the money and time to do so.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

I just share my music onto my social media and wait for the views and listens to come in. I don’t really promote that much.

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

 

I would perform with Jessie Rutherford maybe at a concert, because he has very unique vocals and I like the works of ‘The Neighbourhood’.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

I’m planning on writing some songs and probably release them near the middle or end of the year, but also I will be working on some collaborations with friends and my cousin.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

If I wasn’t making music I would be doing photography, which is also part of my hobbies. I also have a website that has all of my music and photography all in one with links to the official websites, which can be accessed at; ‘ www.vglcompany.wix.com/vglcompany ‘.

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

 

I have never bought an album.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

I make music during my spare time and other than that I focus on school.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

My fans should look forward to more covers, collaborations and maybe some originals.
