Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

 

Dmitry Cooper: I learned Exposed vocals from social networks. As I am a musician, I was interested in this project and I decide to sign up.

 

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Dmitry Cooper: I was born and raised in Ukraine. I am 33 years old and I live in Kherson – a city in the south. My real name Dmitry Bondar. I started to get involved in making music 15 years ago, but study and work took away my free time. Now again I decided to do what I like best – making music. I think that if something you really want – your dreams come true. Let’s see if this is true.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Dmitry Cooper: In truth, my first inspiration has always been the ATB. Now his music is not the same as before, but I give him my respect.

 

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Dmitry Cooper: I believe that the free distribution of music on the Internet is needed primarily for beginning musicians, the same as I do. This step is necessary to ensure that as many people know about my work. Now all my music is freely available and anyone can download it for free:

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Dmitry Cooper: Now thanks to the internet and social networking opportunities for self-artists much more than, for example, 10-15 years ago. Make friends, join groups, publish your music, and you are sure to find out – that’s my advice.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

 

Dmitry Cooper: I’ve never played in public, but I really wish it.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Dmitry Cooper: Inspiration is always there when I’m not busy with my main job. I can get up in the middle of the night to write the melody that I dreamed. In general, many of the ideas come to me in the creation of the track.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Dmitry Cooper: Ylvis – Mr. Toot

 

 

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Dmitry Cooper: In this case, I allow myself a nice vacation with the family, the dream should ever come true (it is a dream to go to Canada and Hawaii). In addition, I would put the money in my development. All the same, for the creation and promotion of high-quality music need a good studio, equipment, advertising, etc . Anyway, I’m sure I would have lived this year for good reason.

 

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

 

Dmitry Cooper: Of course I have plans to upgrade my studio, if it can be called by the studio. But until I do not have money for this update. I work with what I have.

 

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Dmitry Cooper: Today, the most acceptable way for me to my progress is social networking. I still cannot afford professional promotion.

 

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

 

Dmitry Cooper: Today it is Armin van Buren. Why? That’s why he’s the best.

 

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Dmitry Cooper: I am currently working on my new track. In February, I will be ready to show it to the public. I hope my track much like it. And then we’ll see.

 

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Dmitry Cooper: Now I have a main job – I am a lawyer, or rather the prosecutor. I’m serious.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

 

Dmitry Cooper: I have no albums. I’m just starting to develop. Now my music can be downloaded for free.

 

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Dmitry Cooper: With this hard for me. But I have a goal – to become famous, and I follow my dream, no matter what.
