Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Zionus: I heard about it on Twitter. I think it’s a cool idea.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Zionus: I was born in Boston but I grew up in Texas. I remember the first time I listened to Rock n Roll [Will Take You Up The Mountain] by Skrillex, I was like ‘Hey that sounds cool. If he can do it I can do it…’ So that began my journey.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Zionus: Actually it’s pretty funny. I was figuring out an in-game name and it just popped into my head. At the time I was thinking of calling myself ‘ZElectric’ or ‘Zlectric’.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Zionus: I think online music sharing is great. Everybody should have music. Yes, all the tracks I post are up for free download, so you can share em with your friends.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Zionus: hmmm. I’d say just be nice to everyone you meet because you never know who might be an agent. And try to collab with others and promote yourself.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Zionus: I’ve actually never done a set before but I’m sure I’d just improvise any mishaps haha
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Zionus: Nope, never been on tour.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Zionus: Inspiration, for me, comes from just about anything. I usually just imagine the songs in my head first and that’s how a beat pops in my head. And I usually like to start with doing the intro part when I’m producing, and then let it branch out from there.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Zionus: I don’t have a website yet, but you can follow me on Twitter, SnapChat, SoundCloud and Wavo.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Zionus: Definitely wouldn’t want you know that I have Darude’s Sandstorm and Baurer’s Harlem Shake…. Not that I listen to them.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Zionus: Id probably set half aside for saving. Invest 1/4 of it in stocks spend 1/8 of it on gear for a studio and the rest would be spent buying 1/6 scale collectible figures.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Zionus: I am hoping to get a Midi keyboard. Right now I use FL Studio with Sylenth1, Massive and Nexus, among other plugins. Right now it’s just my laptop and the software on it.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Zionus: Hmm… I post my new tracks to Facebook, Twitter and G+. It just takes persistence and patience, period.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Zionus: I’d probably love to open for Michael Jackson or The Beatles. And play a set with Skrillex, Deadmau5, Kygo or Zedd.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Zionus: Just working on getting some colabs finalized. Possibly more house!
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Zionus: Studying and listening to EDM. And doing art.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Zionus: The first song I bought on iTunes was Rock n Roll by Skrillex. I would just feel the adrenaline rush of hearing some epic Skrillex. That was 2012 btw.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Zionus: I think I should help other produces and singers. By colabing and remixing stuff, to kinda move the spotlight around, you know?
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Zionus: Definitely some colabs and some progressive house… MAYBE even me tampering with Dubstep.
