Kobra and the Lotus Premiere Music Video For “Velvet Roses” – off new album Prevail II
Last week the band released a new music video for their new song “Velvet Roses”. In less than a week the video has over 60,000 views and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Video shows around the country have been adding and featuring ‘Velvet Roses’ heavily as well!
“Our new music vid for ‘Velvet Roses’ is out and we couldn’t be more stoked! This is, across the board, one of the band’s most favorite vids we’ve ever made. High impact, pure rock adrenaline packed with our sense of humor. In a world so full of sh*t, it feels great to not take everything so seriously and let the moment run wild. I hope we inflict some serious smilage!” says Kobra.

KOBRA explains the inspiration behind “Velvet Roses”:
“High impact, pure rock adrenaline!! This vid is a fabulous trip. Free falling through the sky, whipping tight turns on a planet where everything that makes sense to you doesn’t apply and the impossible doesn’t exist. Join this tenacious driver and her motley crew as they take guitar solos literally to “new heights” and drive you through the hard rock, adventure of your life!!! “
In more “Velvet Roses” news, the single is currently climbing the charts, recently debuting at #38 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Indicator Chart! HardDrive, the nationally syndicated show hosted by Lou Brutus, recently featured “Velvet Roses”on their Smash OR Crash feature, winning it hands down.
Kobra wants to remind the fans: “Grab it, stream it, jam it, and don’t forget to request ‘Velvet Roses’ on your local radio station.”
Kobra and The Lotus “Velvet Roses” Official Music Video:
Kobra Paige and her motley crew kept their word and now they deliver the second part of their opus magnum one year after the release of Prevail I! Prevail II is the proverbial yang to the yin and continues right where Kobra And The Lotus left off in 2017. The opener ‘Losing My Humanity’ is an exemplary melodic feast of both guitar and vocal craftsmanship that anchors the Canadian four piece firmly in between hard rock and heavy metal with a modern touch and the occasional classic rock! The catchy ‘Let Me Love You’ is another brick to this massive wall of sound, but a solemn intermezzo like ‘Ribe’ and the elegiac ‘White Water’ attest to their musical virtuosity lending taste to the vulnerable and emotional side of the band. Kobra And The Lotus know perfectly well what it takes to cater to the needs of hard rock and metal fans in 2018 without losing touch with the essential roots (just check out ‘Modern day hero’)! ” It was an immensely challenging experience but it pushed and pulled the best out of us”, comments leading lady Kobra. Who could argue with her on that one?
Says vocalist Kobra Paige:
“Humanity. One of the greatest struggles of our human existence is to retain it…
This sequel album takes a deeper dive into the darkness of our psyche and explores the personal torment and struggle we inflict upon ourselves, one another, and the earth. It has become commonplace for people to give up on themselves and lose their belief in their abilities and self-worth. This in turn affects our daily actions/behavior. We are a cripplingly, self-harming species but we are also profoundly capable beings of altruism, evolution, and positivity.
This album will close the ‘Prevail’ double sequel on the lightest of all notes by acknowledging that every single person has a desire to be and deserves to be truly seen, loved, and heard. When the ignorance is cleared, we can recognize that we are all in this together.”
