Found in the Inbox: Chris Johnson Brings a Working Musician’s Story to “Better Days Ahead”
Found in the Inbox
Chris Johnson’s “Better Days Ahead” is introduced through a working musician’s perspective. In the July announcement, Johnson connects the song to a period of having little and wanting to build a better life for his wife and children. It leads the album Tales From The Cowboy Palace, with a video included in the campaign.
Johnson grew up in Lakeside in San Diego County, and describes himself as an “urban cowboy.” His press biography follows a route through family performances, Southern California bands, Musicians Institute and traveling engagements. Alongside performing, he developed a career in sound engineering, equipment rentals and venue ownership. The campaign says he eventually bought the Cowboy Palace, a venue where he had once played.
That history gives the album title a practical connection to the spaces where music happens. The press materials describe songs about perseverance, freedom, fatherhood, motorcycles and redemption, performed with his band, The Hollywood Hillbillies. “Live To Ride” is identified as a follow-up single.
Johnson’s campaign places songwriting at the center of a career spent both performing and helping other artists perform. “Better Days Ahead” offers a direct entry into that history: a song introduced through the practical hopes of work, family and perseverance.
