Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

 

Simon: I have heard from exposed vocals by my twitter accound and I signd up becouse I wanted to give it a try

 

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Simon: I was born in Wagingen in the Netherlands. My mother was a piano teacher and my father was a biologist who teached on the Uneversity of Wageningen. I have not finished my secundairy scool and I have become a musisian becouse I dcould not become an inland sailer becouse I suffer on schizophrenia and I was threatend on a menthal hospital in the end of the ninety’s

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Simon: Simon is my first name.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Artist: I share my music at the internet for friends and sometimes I have a preformance in the recreation building of the menthal hospital.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Simon: Play your music whenever you enjoy to play it.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

 

Simon: I don’t mind making mistakes becouse I play for fun.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

 

Simon: I don’t tour becouse I do not have the money and energy to travel.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Simon: I only play when there is a music schema availeble

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

Simon: I do not have a website. but I share my music on www.soudcloud.com/waaromdan

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

 

Simon: On my MP3-player you can find ‘one’ from Metalica

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Simon: My money is kept by a management foundation and I think I just keep it there.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

 

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Simon: I just ask if the psychiatric nurse wants to listen to my music and then I play my songs for her.

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

 

Simon: James Brawn becouse he plays funky soul with a lot of brass and I used to dance on his music at the local discotheek at Wageningen, my city of birth.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Simon: Last year I wanted to play the ukelele at the jamsession of a local pub in Wageningen, but I was rejected becouse I did not played jazz.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Simon: If I wasn’t playing music than I was living on an allocation in an appartment in Ede and then I was inviting junkies in my house so I could get my drug’s for free.

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

 

Simon: The first album that I had bought was Treu Bleu from Madonna on vynil. And I thought “This is expensive and there goes my pocket money”.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Simon: If there is a talent hunt again in the recreation building from the menthal hospital ProPersona in Wolfheze (the Netherlands) I wil play on my ukelele wich I had as a birthdaypressent from my parents last year in october.
