Former Top Aide for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Says Mogul Kidnapped Her in Plot to Kill Rapper Kid Cudi
The federal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs has taken another chilling turn, with new testimony from a former top aide painting the hip-hop mogul as dangerous, violent, and consumed by power. Capricorn Clark, who served closely under Combs for years, told a Manhattan courtroom last week that the Bad Boy Records founder kidnapped her at gunpoint as part of a plot to confront—and possibly kill—rapper Kid Cudi.
According to Clark, the incident occurred in 2011 when Combs allegedly discovered that Cudi had become romantically involved with singer Cassie Ventura, Combs’ longtime girlfriend at the time. Enraged and paranoid, Clark said Combs brandished a firearm and forced her into a vehicle under threat. The destination: a meeting with Cudi, where Combs intended to “send a message.”
“He had a gun. He said, ‘You’re coming with me,’ and I didn’t have a choice,” Clark testified. She described the confrontation with Cudi as terrifying, claiming Combs screamed threats and stated outright that he would kill the rapper if the relationship with Cassie continued. “I thought he was going to do it right then and there,” she said on the stand. “I was afraid we both weren’t going to make it out.”
Clark’s testimony adds weight to claims made earlier in the trial by Kid Cudi himself, who revealed that in 2012, his Porsche was destroyed in a firebombing attack. Cudi testified that he believes Combs ordered the attack in retaliation. Although no charges were filed at the time, federal prosecutors are now tying that incident to what they describe as a broader pattern of intimidation and retaliation by Combs against perceived enemies and rivals.
The allegations align with claims made by Cassie Ventura in her bombshell 2023 civil lawsuit, which accused Combs of prolonged abuse, coercion into drug-fueled sex acts, and physical violence. Though the civil suit was quickly settled, it triggered the federal investigation that led to Combs’ indictment on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, witness tampering, and more.
The courtroom atmosphere has been tense and emotional as prosecutors attempt to dismantle the image of Combs as a business-savvy artist and rebuild it as that of a man who allegedly ruled through fear, manipulation, and violence. With weeks of testimony still to come, including from former employees, collaborators, and alleged victims, the trial is shaping up to be one of the most consequential legal reckonings in modern music history.
Editorial Note: Sean “Diddy” Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Under U.S. law, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The testimony reported above is part of an ongoing federal trial and consists of allegations not yet proven in court.
