Exposed Vocals just sat down with ‘Stan CLMG’ for an exclusive interview!

Exposed Vocals: Stan CLMG, great catching up with you again, let’s get straight to it. The Space Tape, which is Crazy by the way, on the intro you say “I’m on my 3rd Album in 13 months, Work Ethic Crazy never been Lazy”. Third Album in 13 months?

Thanks man it’s always a pleasure chopping it up with you. Yeah man we’re just working overtime, at any given moment we can be working on 3 or 4 projects at the same time. I want to clarify though, this is my 3rd release in 13 months, we didn’t record 3 albums in 13 months ha ha.

It took about 3 years to complete Seven and about a year to complete GodSpeed and around 9 months to finish The Space Tape.

Exposed Vocals: Yeah that’s still amazing though. One thing I noticed about your movement is you don’t take the Single Route. Many indie artists or up and coming artists tend to focus on getting 1 song to chart and focus only on pushing and promoting that single. You took a different route and you push whole projects and albums. And it’s working for you, was this the plan?

I’m not a single guy man, we work too hard in the studio to just drop one song ha ha. These are movies we’re making I want people to experience the whole project not just one song. Every song that became trendy off the last projects were just the ones that people would listen to over and over. We never pushed a single and I can’t say it was planned that way but we just wanted people to get the whole feeling so we want them to intake the whole project.

Exposed Vocals: Yeah you see that a lot now, artists are releasing 15 plus song albums or more, Chris Brown did a 40 song album. EP’s are starting to fade away.

Right and these are major artists, so how can indie artists not drop full length projects. How can an artist drop a 5 song project ha ha? It’s just a hobby at that point. Don’t get me wrong I believe in quality over quantity but if you call yourself an artist and this is your passion then you should be in that studio every week and if you are then how can you come out with only 7 songs in a year ha ha. It’s time to check that work ethic and how bad do you really want it.

Exposed Vocals: Exactly. Let’s talk The Space Tape. Explain the title.

Ha ha, we getting real spacey this time around. Na this album was actually recorded in two parts, I have so many songs I actually have a part 2 ready. But after GodSpeed I wanted to do a compilation album and work with some artists I always wanted to work with and it started like that. But then I lost the hard drive with about 20 songs on it half way thru and recovered only like 4 songs. So we went back in and re-recorded some songs and got in a zone and recorded about 30 new songs with that. The vibe is crazy this the best recording, creating zone we ever been in.

Exposed Vocals: Yeah it feels like your best yet. It’s been a Good year for you Stan. Radio and Music. 1057 The Box Radio is Global Broadcasting 24/7 now, how does that feel?

Aww man it’s surreal at times. To know how much sacrifice we put in to get this radio station going global and nonstop, 4 years in the making. I’m excited because of the opportunities it’s bringing to other DJ’s and Radio Personalities. We’re working with so many DJ’s now doing LIVE Mixes on the Wake up & Primetime Mix Shows and we got some new Radio Personalities doing some great interviews and things and Friday Night Lights is speeding on! We’re building something special!

Exposed Vocals: Man the Wake Up mix is my favorite I wake up every morning listening to it, it gets my day going! Plus Friday Night Lights gets my weekend mind going.

Exposed Vocals: Do it! Hey man Congrats on GodSpeed the mini movie too. I talked to Carrie East when I was in LA and she was so proud of this film and you guys did major numbers on YouTube also.

Thanks man, yeah that was all Carrie East and her film company out in LA they put that all together. She gave me the script I added a few things and it came to life. It was cool watching it, the music told the story without any character dialogue. That was original, we’re thinking about making it full length and presenting it at some indie film festivals next year.

Exposed Vocals: That would be crazy man! 2018 what’s next for Stan CLMG? I talked to Sam Mister Engineer he said you might be working on a GodSpeed 2 or a Seven part 2 called Eight?

Ha ha Mister Engineer with the leak. Na man you know I’m always up front, if you’re rocking with me and feeling this music I’m always upfront to what I’m working on. So no Eight or GodSpeed 2 but I am planning to drop The Space Tape Vol 2 on my birthday next year in Vegas and we’re working on the Official DJ Black Ice Album. I’m trying to drop 4 projects next year and more radio, we’re looking to expand. You know FAM work and more work!
