Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
David:
My story is still in progress. I grew up in Tel Aviv, Israel. I’ve been writing songs from a very young age, since 8 or 7… I’d been wanting to do something like this since I was a kid.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
David:
Well these days, especially independent artists have to share their music online for free because there’s no other way, so I do it. This can sometimes harm good musicians who can’t afford recording their music and share it for free but this is how the world and the industry are at this moment. Think of a painter who works day and night for weeks to complete the perfect painting and then he just give it away for free, same thing here. The good side is that now you can get exposed to much more music artists and bands you wouldn’t get to hear otherwise. So there is good and bad in everything.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
David:
I think that there are main principles you just have to stick to such as: never give up, learn from critics, be ready to fail and fall because there’s no other way around and the most important thing is to keep creating, keep going forward. If some club say no to your gig offer than move forward and try the next club. This is what it’s all about. There’s no guarantee for success but hard work. This is the only way I know and believe.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
David:
My inspiration gathering is non-stop. Just like every other muscle in our body, you have to keep it running and alive. I get inspiration from any word, phrase I come across or a vision that pops in my head. This is the music bug, it’s everywhere. Same goes for the writing process, you have to be ready to get this idea, phrase, melody showing up in our had for a glance so you can write it down or record it right away because it disappears immediately.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
David:
Yeah you can find me in any online platform that I know, still finding new ones from time to time. But you can find me easily on YouTube, Soundcloud, Facebook, Instagram etc My website is about to go live very soon so I’m truly excited to see the result and how it turned out.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
David:
First of all I would donate a part of it to charity, we are obligated as artist to give and help community. Then I would go and record a new album, this is the second thing I would do. The rest will just help me enjoy the freedom to create non-stop. This is my main goal in life so a million dollars will definitely help.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
David:
I’m trying to give my fans everything for free because I believe that in this era it’s all about live performances , you need to be really good and professional on stage and this will do the best promotion you can get.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
David:
I like to keep surprising and be versatile, always expect the unexpected from me. so I can just say that my next project is nothing like you’ve ever heard before.
I Ain’t Easy
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
David:
mmm… a young blond groupie I guess… na I’m kidding. Maybe something with sports, can’t really tell.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
David:
A bigger and better shape of David Darmon.
