Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
My real name is Steve Montgomery and grew up in Peoria,IL which is about 3 hours from Chicago. I remember loving music before I could even walk I think and it was after my mom took me to my first concert that this is what I will pursue whether I make any money or not.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
It's a never ending battle to try to get your name and music out to the world but thanks to the internet sites like yours it makes it easier. The days of posting flyers in your local town are now over because we can reach thousands or more thanks to social media with just one click.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
When I used to play live in my old metal band I used to be paranoid about forgetting my own lyrics. There's been a couple times I forgot a verse so I kept a small pocket size notebook with the lyrics in my back pocket just in case. I think it was a psychological fear because when ever I had that notebook I never forgot any lyrics.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
I do not tour with the music I do.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
I'm a Kontakt instrument junkie and always looking out for the best deals. If I have a weakness it's buying sample libraries.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
I'm still looking for the best way to promote my music but doing interviews like these are one of the best.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
I would love to play with any artist who doesn't lip sync.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
I am constantly working on new music and released 2 albums in 2016. I Haven't decided yet if I will release one in 2017 or not. My main goal this year is to license some of my music.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Probably playing video games- LOL!
