Mark Trone is an independent singer/songwriter/producer of alternative pop music who currently resides in Tampa, Florida. “Embrace The Rain” was Mark’s first commercial album; released in the summer of 2012 on a self-made label, World of Tomorrow Records, LLC.
Hailing from the Midwest, Mark grew up in a small town in southern Illinois. Songwriting became an early passion and blossomed in high school when he started his first band, which played completely original music from his songs. Trone continued forming bands playing original music, but added the occasional cover song as well.
Not satisfied with only playing live he desired to put his music down as recordings. Although he experimented with low grade recording equipment from a young age, he decided to take the band in a real studio. With demo tape in hand the love of music recording would never fade.
After years of making and recording original music with bands, Trone took a hiatus. Fast-forward to 2012 where new songs were written for an album, which was later titled, “Embrace the Rain”. Having past experience with home studio recording he made the decision to record the album on his own this time. After a challenging learning curve the album was released. The album was a retro guitar heavy pop rock throwback with lots of catchy hooks. The title song was the stand-out release.
After “Embrace the Rain” Trone continued to release singles and some music videos. His sound changed somewhat with each release, showing obvious experimentation. For example, in 2013 the single, “World Party”, was released having a modern alternative pop sound that was beat driven and used heavy synthesizers. The message of the song was upbeat and positive, which is in contrast to the emotionally painful tone of “Embrace The Rain”.
“I Like You”, released in 2017, is a free track for download from www.marktrone.com and uses heavy synthesizers and no guitar. It is a fun track about being drawn to the quirkiness of another person. Currently Mark is working on an album in the country rock genre with another musician in Tampa, Florida.
