Exposed Vocals just caught a follow up interview with Daria Tara – future Miss Algeria 2017
Exposed Vocals: Welcome back, Daria. Last time we spoke, you were auditioning for the Voice UK. Do you want to follow up on your trip to London? How did it go?
Daria: Hi guys! Am so happy to be back and I just turned 25 so it’s pretty cool to be here to talk about my music and different projects I have coming up ! Yes I was, it was quite an adventure actually, I had only really seen the show on TV and to be there in person was pretty impressive and I have to say a little intimidating, but everyone was very nice and supporting each other. However when I auditioned we only had 30 seconds to impress them and I think that was a little unfair, if I had more time I probably would have been able to make the show but I am not really into reality TV anyways. I prefer to be making, creating and coming up with ideas for art, music and fashion. Not dissing the show in anyway though I think it’s a great platform for performers to get themselves noticed and seen. I am actually in London at the moment and am so happy to be here I’ve missed it so much. All in all it went really well! If you never try you’ll never know right? So I took a chance and that’s what I am going to keep doing. Even if it doesn’t work out at least you gave it all you got. “Shoot for the moon even if you miss you’ll land among the stars.”
Exposed Vocals: We released your Rose Shadows EP music review back in June – any new projects in the works?
Daria: Rose Shadows, so the name came from actually my childhood because growing up my grandmother planted a rose in our garden and named it after me. Roses are very meaningful and significant to me. Shadows is just growing up and realising how life has it’s dark side and light side. There is actually a beautiful quote by Angelina Jolie from the movie “The Tourist” with Johnny Depp where she says “People have two sides, a good side, a bad side ; a past, a future. And we must embrace both in someone we love.” I find that beautiful. She has always been a huge inspiration, such a wonderful artist.
I am currently working on another EP that I will hopefully be releasing soon and the name is a surprise ! Also my second album will be coming out sometime next year “Celestial Origins”. I am trying my best to release everything in a way that’s cool and creative and tells a story. Still need to release my first album officially on ITunes as a package so everyone can download it on their phones, iPads, iPods and computers. I’ve been working with CD Baby and they’ve been awesome!
Exposed Vocals: I see here you’ve been selected to be Miss Algeria 2017 for a global beauty pageant in November. That’s really exciting! Do you want to talk about how you’re going to connect that with your music and artistic creativity?
Daria: Oh my! Yes I have been officially selected to be Miss Algeria 2017 and it’s an incredible honour and blessing to be in this position because I am now able to really make an impact in the art world, music world, movie world, fashion world! My four favourite things. I have been brainstorming and daydreaming up ideas on how to combine my work with Miss Global and I think it will be a very enriching experience on many different levels. Culturally, spiritually, emotionally, artistically, creatively. It is going to be spectacular. Merging humanitarian causes, messages, movements and music, art and fashion will be a huge statement and will hopefully send a positive message and inspire others to shine their light brightly in this world. Stay tuned for what’s to come !
Exposed Vocals: I see you also have other modeling projects and Humanitarian work coming up?
Daria: Yes I am actually working on my own little fashion line which will take some time but all good things take time. I am aiming for a evening wear casual chic line, something elegant and sexy. Beginning with jewelry, a small jewelry collection with crystals, semi precious stones, silver and gold. And maybe also a perfume as a teaser !
Exposed Vocals: So, any new travel plans or cool events that you’d like to mention?
Daria: London for a few days is going to be great as it is Frieze Art week and London is on fire creatively. Lots of good vibes here. I am going to spend some time in Switzerland in the mountains where I feel at home. After that I am off to Cambodia! Super fun. Also Halloween is coming up and Thanksgiving, then Christmas and New Years so I can’t wait for all these amazing celebrations that are coming up somehow I feel that this year they are going to be very special.
Exposed Vocals: Let’s talk a little bit about your brother’s clothing line that he launched?
Daria: My brother is an amazing artist as well ! He is so talented and so focused and determined, I really admire him and love him so much. He deserves all the success that is coming his way and I can’t wait to see what else he creates and through his films and his fashion I believe he will make a big impact as well. It’s called Bonfire of the Vanities, this was a movement back in 1497 where they would burn cosmetics, and items that represented vanity because they considered it as sin. It’s a bold statement and in today’s society everybody is self obsessed, so he wanted to break down those barriers and boundaries . I am very proud of him. You can follow his line on instagram @bonfireofthev.
He’s had 2 fashion shows in Paris this year and it’s really going great !
Exposed Vocals: I hear you have a music video in the works! What’s that about?
Daria: Hmmmm, well it’s pretty secret at the moment. But I will say that it is very much a continuation of the first video “The Ones”.
Exposed Vocals: It’s always such a pleasure taking the time to sit with you. Anything else you’d like to mention before we wrap this up?
Daria: I can’t wait for what’s to come, I know that we are living in very tumultuous and uncertain times that can makes us feel a bit scared at times but I believe that we will overcome these challenges and rise above the hate and the evil that is trying to take over the world. The universe is infinite and full of hidden gems. I am so grateful for all the support of my friends and all the friends and amazing people I have met on this journey. Thank you so much for your questions and have a beautiful Autumn and Winter season! Magical things are coming, beautiful changes and I believe it is all for the best.
