Chris Brown Defends Himself in Dog Attack Lawsuit: “I’m Not Bad”
Los Angeles, CA — Chris Brown is speaking out in legal filings, offering his personal account of a 2021 dog attack that left a former housekeeper seriously injured. In newly filed court documents submitted this week, the singer shared excerpts from his deposition, defending his character and asking the judge to dismiss several of the claims ahead of a scheduled February 2026 trial.
“I’m not bad,” Brown said during the deposition, insisting he was unaware his Caucasian shepherd Ovcharka, named Hades, posed any danger at the time of the alleged incident.
The lawsuit, originally filed in 2021, accuses Brown of negligence, claiming the large dog mauled the housekeeper while she was performing her duties at his Tarzana, California home. The plaintiff alleges she was left with severe injuries, emotional trauma, and ongoing medical expenses. Brown’s legal team has pushed back on some of the claims, arguing that certain elements of the lawsuit should be dismissed due to lack of evidence or legal standing.
In his testimony, Brown stated he never trained the dog to be aggressive and claimed he took measures to secure the animal on his property. The singer reportedly emphasized that he was not present when the attack occurred and only learned of the incident afterward.
The case is set to go to trial in early 2026 unless a settlement is reached or the court agrees to dismiss parts of the lawsuit.
Brown, who has had past legal troubles, is once again in the spotlight as fans and critics alike await the court’s next move.
