Kid Cudi Testifies Against Sean “Diddy” Combs, Alleges 2012 Break-In and Firebombing Tied to Jealousy Over Cassie
In a shocking turn during the ongoing federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, rapper Kid Cudi took the witness stand today and testified that Combs broke into his home and later targeted him in a suspected act of arson — the firebombing of his Porsche — in 2012. Cudi claimed the incidents were motivated by Combs’s jealousy over Cudi’s brief relationship with singer Cassie Ventura, Combs’s then-girlfriend.
Testifying under oath in the Southern District of New York, Cudi (born Scott Mescudi) detailed a disturbing sequence of events that, according to his testimony, began shortly after it became known within the music industry that he and Ventura had developed a personal relationship.
“He found out, and things got dark real fast,” Cudi told the court. “He broke into my home. I wasn’t there, but it was clear. My stuff was moved. Things were out of place. It was a message.”
Cudi went on to describe how, just weeks later, his Porsche 911 — parked outside his Los Angeles home — was destroyed in what he alleged was a targeted firebombing. While the incident was not widely reported at the time, court documents introduced during today’s testimony include fire department reports, photos of the charred vehicle, and insurance documentation. No one was ever arrested or charged in connection with the incident.
Prosecutors used Cudi’s testimony to support their narrative that Combs routinely used intimidation, violence, and fear to maintain control — not only over women but also over perceived rivals and anyone who threatened his personal or professional image.
“Mr. Combs didn’t just control the women in his life,” a federal prosecutor said during redirect. “He controlled the men too — with violence, with threats, with destruction.”
Combs’s legal team objected repeatedly during Cudi’s testimony, calling the allegations “unfounded” and “irrelevant character assassination.” During cross-examination, the defense questioned Cudi’s timing in coming forward and suggested the claims were exaggerated or strategically timed to gain media attention. Cudi remained firm: “I didn’t ask to be here. I was asked to tell the truth.”
This high-profile testimony marks a rare instance of a fellow male celebrity publicly implicating Combs in direct acts of violence, adding another explosive layer to a trial already defined by serious allegations of abuse, coercion, and criminal enterprise.
More witnesses — including former associates, security personnel, and additional accusers — are expected to testify in the coming weeks as the government continues to build its case. The trial is projected to continue into early July.
