About Maynard’s Song
This video is inspired by Maynard Jaime, the black cat from the Mission District in San Francisco, who brought love and affection into my life during times of great disorder. I adopted Maynard in the fall of 2008. The moment I let eight-week-old Maynard out of his cardboard crate into my apartment in the Haight Ashbury, he immediately went right up to my bass guitar and started tapping the strings with his paws. He then proceeded to serenade every action with ongoing vocals evoking his namesake, Maynard James Keenan. Maynard the cat was known to lie in front my bass amp soaking in the vibrations. Much like the love of any cat, this song encompasses energy and affection as well as mood, and solitude.

“Maynard’s Song” is the second track on the EP: ‘De Profundis’.
