Negrocan – Cada Vez (Grant Nelson Vocal Mix 1999)
Negrocan is a multi-ethnical group that comprises Andres Lafone (from Uruguay; bass, vocals), Liliana Chachion (from Brazil; vocals), Davide Giovaninni (from Italy; drums, vocals), Neil Angilly (from England; keyboards) and Carlos Fuentes (from Chile; percussion). Formed in London in 1991 by Lafone, Negrocan mixed Uruguay’s ‘candombe’ rhythm with Brazilian, funk and jazz influences. Popular on the UK’s Latin and jazz dance scenes (their debut, Medio Mundo, was released on salsa DJ Gerry Lyseight’s Deep South label), they also appeared at festivals throughout Europe.
