Vitani x Mozzy “The Way The Game Made Me”

Xavier Murray, better known by his stage name “Vitani” is an American rapper and lyricist who began his career as a young teenager in the grimy streets of Oakland, California. From the beginning, this lyrical protege started making his name known and stayed on the fore front at the young age of 13 years old by writing lyrics for MC Hammer in the 90’s.

Growing up in the inner city of Oakland, he faced phenomenal obstacles which led him to life changing choices. Vitani’s heroin addicted father was another strong influence in his youth which unfortunately lead him to the street life. Not by chance, but by fate, he returned home a rehabilitated man after a 10 year incarceration. He never lost his determination to return to the music, but now in a tech era. So essentially, he was tremendously focused on starting from the ground up in a new age.

It has always been clear that Vitani’s skill level was miles beyond his contemporaries, which then ushered in the creation of his own label Armored Truck Muzick. A double-disc Album entitled “Etched In Stone” was released digitally under the new label in 2012, he then followed up fiercely with a Free original beats mixtape, entitled “Soul Of A Hustler” in 2014 as a gift, to his new fans. These projects only went on to reinforce the sheer skills on display. It is very hard to fault the tenacity of this incredibly driven and prolific wordsmith, after all… he was absent from the world for a decade.

Vitani is blessed with the ability to communicate incredibly complex realistic story lines and concepts with such ease and clarity. This is fact, as it is common knowledge that there isn’t really anyone who can, word for word, match his freestyle wit and incredible turn of phrase.
