Vegeta [Prod. kidkeva] (Official Music Video) with Exclusive Interview
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I grew up in Miami, FL. It really exposed me to Hip-Hop & R&B with local artists such as Fat Joe,
GrindMode, S*** even Pitbull & the effect he had on the Latin Commnuity.
In all serious, my biggest exposure to rap music was my Uncle Luis, I call him BooBoo cause
that was our nickname for him from childhood.
Secondly, my sister also got me into it heavy cause she would play it everday when she came home on her
her little iPod dock. She showed me artists like R-Kelly, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, and then of course
Drakecame along, and rap has always been my favorite genre.
I was passionate about wanting to be an artist since a child. I would even have dreams of waking up
in million dollar mansions with automatic curtains, butlers, chefs, doing anything I could.
So of course my mission is to make those dreams come true.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
I’m a startup myself folks. I still work a full time and part time to make this dream come true.
All I can say is no matter how hard it gets, you’re your own artist and don’t be discourage by no
one. Anyone can make their dream a reality as long as you put the work in. I’m in your position,
I only recently started to get what they call “clout” but in the end as long as you perservere,
you’ll make it there. As far as gigs go, that’s on you, try and find open mic nights, start there,
then move on to bigger venues. I’m in the promise of working on a venue at 1904 Music Hall in
Jacksonville, FL. In the end give it your 110% and more on top.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Like I said man, I don’t perform at anything big, but yeah here and there at some college parties
I will stumble on my words, but just bounce back, it’s all good. We’re humnan we make mistakes. It’s
all a process of learning. I even f*** up infront of my homeboys cause I get nervous haha.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
As far as a studio, I’m working on getting a house with my team so we can finally just record in
our own space. I work with high tech equipment at professional studios at the moment.
Once the team house gets established, I’m aiming for nothing but high end equipment.
Exposed Vocals: Tours?
I don’t tour but that is a huge dream of mine. I can say this though, one of the best experiences
I’ve had at a concert was Travis Scott throwing someone into the crowd haha.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Right now, Fiverr seems to be the place that is helping me get more exposure but I’m constantly
looking for more. It’s a process, but Fiverr is where its at at the moment.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
F*** man tough one. I’m picking multiple so just deal with it. Dead category: 2Pac, Pimp C,
Biggie, Michael Jackson, Lil Snupe, Lil Peep
Alive: Oliver Francis, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Mob, Drake, The Weeknd, NAV, 2 Chainz, I’d love
to whoop logics ass in some super smash on stage & of course Gucci. There’s many others but
I dont wanna ramble to much.
As far as to why, in general concensus, all of their music has gotten me through tough times,
It’s helped me build my style and work ethic, they showed me anyone can do what they want.
Finally, I know they’re all great f****** guys. Plus they’re my damn idols so what can I say? Hah
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Dude it’s really crazy right now. I actually have 3 projects on the way. I don’t want to spoil too
much but they’re definitely gonna be some of the best work yet. I have a collab project with
@WAVLeague which is a team of producers that show me mad love. The Title is .WAVS. I also have
another project with my team producer @rarecoinbeats which will be a 5 track EP to introduce
our brand and team of course. Finally, a third project that I’m keeping off the radar so we’ll
leave it at that. But you can expect a single from all 3 on SoundCloud, Apple Music & Spotify.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Opening my own Colombian resturant with my step-father to be quite honest. But I would’ve also
loved to get into marketing, maybe even real estate.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
I just gotta say my main goal is to get this thing going as soon as I can, so hopefully 2018
Freshman Class. XXL HIT ME UP! But you got the projects, more projects and singles as well.
And if we don’t hit the 2018 list, I promise 2019 is ours!
Exposed Vocals: Any Shout-outs?
I want to shout out Scooter Gang, his team, I want to shoutout @WAVLeague, I also want to shoutout
@DroGotDrip & of course my family and one of my homies who recently passed.
