Understand Me by Fo.G (feat. Anthony Eugene) – Single [ Review]
Fo.G is a full canvas of Grit, Pain, Energy & Unfortunate Events turned lyrically inspirational. Coming out of the PNW (Pacific Northwest) inspiration is all about where you seek it. Welcome to inspiration.
The suckerest bet in the music writing racket is trying to neatly summarize a regional music scene. But due to certain quirks of history and provincial character, it’s actually pretty convenient to talk about the past 20-ish years of Pacific Northwest indie rap, in terms of what it came to be.
So lets talk about Fo.G and his hit single ‘Understand Me’ (feat. Anthony Eugene)
Apart from being an other genius song title, it’s an anthem to unite the outsiders, and you can imagine his fans chanting along with:
“I let this music do the talking / please Father forgive me / If I aint rap’n I’m snap’n / they say it’s the same thang ”.
Overall, this is a very strong single that shows Fo.G can consistently cut it as a hip hop artist of high quality, and can be the rival of anyone out there. With Eminem past his best, and 50 Cent filing for bankruptcy, maybe it’s time for a new bad boy in town. Fo.G may want to stay underground but if there’s any justice, this track should propel him to new heights of success.
