UK Rockers Pirates of Panama Release Single “Been There Before” Off Upcoming EP
New York (Aug. 14, 2015) – UK native rockers, Louis Collins and Ed Van Egan, of Pirates of Panama released the first single “Been There Before” today, Aug. 14, 2015, off of their upcoming EP, “The Chase” set to release Oct. 2, 2015. Pirates who doubled as the songwriter and producer of “Been There Before” leaned on the production capabilities the multi-platinum award winning of Simon Henderson, known for working in the company of Ozzy Osbourne, Jake E. Lee, Dennis Stratton (Iron Maiden) and Steve Mann (MSG) from the days of the early metal scene in East London, with his first band TaraZara, to bring out Pirates’ sound detail, as well as his acting stints for his roles in films such as the 1976 smash hit“Star Wars”.
“I look at Been There Before as a de ja vu song on the path to success,” said lead vocalist and bassist, Collins, “I feel like everyone has felt like the accomplishments they’ve earned is like being somewhere you’ve already been, more like you’re glad to be back where you belong for the first time.”
Van Egan, the band’s guitarist spoke on “Been There Before”, the sound discovery and development of Pirates, “We have rediscovered a seemingly lost fun rock sound that the hard-hitting UK bands were known for like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, the legendary Rolling Stones combined and it with a new era,” Van Egan went on to speak about his experience working with Henderson on this project “it’s been great to work with a renowned producer like [Simon] that has something and something it helps elevate us as a band.”
“The Pirates are young, fresh and exciting but with that familiar warmth you get when you eat your mama’s home cooking,” said Henderson, the Sony BMG producer with over 8 million records sold, in regards to working with Pirates on “Been There Before” and “The Chase” EP “Their music makes me want to drive my car and reminds me of the best days of my rock and roll life.”
