Two Flame Blaze – Drip [Music Review]
Two Flame Blaze’s powerful flow feels flawless on “Drip”, a true display of confidence and impressive storytelling. Over the course of the track Two Flame Blaze strips the sound down to the ultimate essentials. Grooves go for a physicality, with the bass in particular bouncing through with a sense of urgency. Melodies employ a tremendous tension, ensuring that the whole atmosphere feels particularly gorgeous. Rhythms roll on through never feeling rushed always taking their time in exploring atmosphere. By far the highlight of the whole piece comes from the vocals, where their delivery has a commanding aura to it.
Glowing organ chords introduce the track, punctuated by piano. Quite slowly the whole song comes into focus, letting the buildup feel considered yet graceful. Everything adds to the power of the carefully crafted narrative. Coming in and out of focus, the whole thing simply stuns. By opting for such an impressive array of references and snapshots of a life lived to the fullest, what results in a world that swirls about in a fantastic kind of haze. Delivery goes for a nimbleness, allowing for a unique, mysterious style. For the final stretch of the work, the way that the vocals swim in and out of the mix adds to the poignancy of the delivery. Right before the piece ends only the lyrics remain, with everything else dropping out.
“With “Drip” Two Flame Blaze goes for a direct, intimate sound, one that feels so intense and so real.”
