“very smooth and classic vibe” Valentine – Lezahe Norwood aka CaliNycs
‘Valentine’ has a very smooth and classic vibe to it that’s likely to get people feeling good, relaxed and optimistic. The song has the simplistic style and swagger of live jazz and mellow funk. The song itself has a free flowing nature to it as well, which works effectively alongside of the jazz vibe – you can easily imagine a live performance at a cellar bar somewhere.
The track rolls out and along and is actually over much sooner than expected. The music is great though, it leaves it’s print regardless – the good vibes, the energy, the instrumentation; all of which is performed with a simple energy yet perfect accuracy, and all of which contributes to an enjoyable final project. The production too plays a huge part in this, and that’s always worth pointing out – if the recording and the mix weren’t quite as polished and smooth sounding as this, much of the song’s value would be left aside. It’s easy to appreciate the work put in as everything sounds just as you’d hope it would.
The leading vocal performance has a sultry smoothness to it that is equally fitting and that seems to glide out along the musical backdrop with superb relevancy. The voice here plays the part of another instrument, the lyrics seem less important than the emotion and the easy going nature of the piece on the whole. The vibe is set by the sounds, and the artist’s vocal performance is kept mellow and calm throughout so as to effectively portray and maintain this particular vibe for the extent of the recording. It’s a short track, less than two minutes; there’s definitely room for expansion. But, of course, the benefit is that the music leaves you wanting more, which is one of the best effects you can have on your listeners.
