Rique – Company [Music Review]

Playful and passionate, Rique goes for a soulful style on the soothing R&B of “Company”. His voice feels full of energy, going for a subtle approach. Sly grooves help the entire track glide along with a great sense of grace. Everything has plenty of same to roam, while Rique incorporate nimble beats, a hint of jazz, and a lounge-like demeanor to the entirety of the track. Best of all is the dexterous beats that are sprinkled throughout the piece, going from dance to pop to R&B and more with the greatest of ease.

At first remaining uniquely acoustic the whole song begins on a light airy note. Gradually Rique lets the whole piece evolve with the utmost of grace. The buildup of the sound feels natural, imbuing it with a tremendous sense of life. Teeming with an uncanny amount of energy, the whole piece rushes forward with a neon-haze that takes over. Layer upon layer of sound adds to the luxurious realm. Everything feels great, from the way the keyboards sparkle to the increasingly hard-hitting basslines. By taking on this approach Rique picks apart the entirety of true yearning, of the desire for another. Relationships take time, take effort, and Rique displays that utilizing a great degree of care. Quite tremendous with its grandeur, towards the end of the piece Rique lets it all simply drift away in a fantastic haze.
