[Review] ‘Pandora Effect’ by King Lingo “The creativity is a huge”
The initial few seconds of audio suggest that something a little alternative or industrial is about to emerge, perhaps even leaning more towards the electronic rock side of music production than anything else. However, what actually comes through is quite unexpected and extremely unique. The ambiance created by the following few moments of instrumentation has a trip-hop or easy listening vibe, yet again things are flipped upside down again when the leading vocals come into play. The track fuses a down-tempo electronica vibe – complete with the intricate detail and gradually developing, evolving structure of any epic instrumental piece – and a fast flowing, deeply passionate and somewhat manic edge of hip-hop. It sounds incredible.

The creativity is a huge part of what gives the release a stamp of individuality, not only have the genres been fused, something new has come from it, and it actually works – the vibes created are supremely easy to get into, and the performances and lyrics featured throughout never fall short of the high standard implied by the music. It’s immensely interesting, but most of all – it’s memorable and effective music. You can vibe to this, it feels likes something fresh, something brand new, and yet all the professional qualities are there to make sure it works and it flows and it reaches out and connects with you.

The human touch comes a little later than expected, so you’re lost in the energy of the music by this point, perhaps even having forgotten there’s an artist behind the sound – that it’s not just you and your thoughts, you and your escapism. It works really well, the story telling comes as a welcome change and the variation between vocals furthers the appeal and keeps things interesting and captivating from start to finish.
