[Review] Jamol Jupitur – Seductive Trappa “a flawless balance of creativity and professionalism.”
This is a really unique and interesting new beat that works beautifully as an isolated instrumental piece, but is equally aching for an artist feature or collaboration to widen that audience even further. The artist and producer behind the piece has driven the track with a flawless balance of creativity and professionalism. The skill is undeniable, the riffs, the development, the structure, the overall mood. The right kind of vocalist would find that this type of production shines a beautifully bright light on their songwriting and performance abilities.
The development of the track is great, the soundscape fuses a number of different genres, but it does so without going overboard or cranking up the density or volume of the instrumental moments. The ambience of the completed piece feels like a musical journey within itself, and because it’s been so masterfully polished, everything stands tall, every moment sounds both smooth and gritty and dark and bright subsequently as the track moves along. The meeting of the ambient, the surreal, cinematic style soundscape, and the more industrial sounding beat and leading, melodic riffs, makes for something special. It works well, the sound is fresh and somewhat exotic on occasion, while still holding true to those genre influences and that intended audience.
The latter half of the track features a piano-like riff that is a welcome addition to the mix, a sublime moment of variation and evolution, a change in scene. This particular riff hits with power and in fact is the most likely element to be left lingering in your mind after listening. The overall energy of the piece is perfect for any reflective, poetic lyricism to float along through. As mentioned, this creativity meets knowledge and skill is so well balanced, and that’s where the strength is.
