“a pretty electrifying piece of music” Love Zombies – Birthday
This is a pretty electrifying piece of music, fantastic energy throughout, and the bands’ enthusiasm and love of music really passes on to you as you listen. The initial sound has something of a pop-punk presentation, particularly the optimism of those notes in the guitar riff. As the song progresses, a slightly more classic rock and punk anthem unfolds, drawing minor moments of reminisce from the likes of No Doubt – the leading vocal style perhaps enforces this further – and also from bands like Ash and Smashing Pumpkins in a way.
The music fills up the entire space around you, as opposed to offering up snippets of riffs and disjointed rhythms and vocal parts. There’s a wholeness to the sound that isn’t often heard these days. The energy and the melody are as strong as ever, but neither of these make it sound particularly ‘pop’ like.
It’s a great thing to have achieved, they sound like a great band, writing songs that really catch your ear and get caught in your mind, at the same time as offering up a vintage, nostalgic bit of punk-rock energy in amongst a generally indie-soaked ambiance.
It’s a really strong fusion of various inspiring elements. It’s great to hear skill and energy and passion delivered in a manner that is also melodically effective, and creatively experimental – so as to really express the art of artists, their true colours, and the music they simply love to make. The video accompanying the track furthers this belief, and the genuinity becomes even stronger, as does the authentic rock edge that the band undoubtedly bring with their music. Every musician involved plays their part brilliantly within the context of the track. The opening riff is one that grabs the right kind of audience from the offset, and what follows is likely to keep their attention for the long run.
