OKLOU SHARES GALORE ANNIVERSARY EP
WITH REMIXES FEAT. POMME, DANNY L HARLE & CASEY MQ HERE
Released this time last year, oklou’s world of Galore lives in a space between dream and reality. The project was widely acclaimed on release, with praise from press titles including FADER, Highsnobiety, Clash, Dazed and many more. Today, three new versions of mixtape tracks are released: “astrias” ft. Zero Castigo [long version], “girl on my throne” ft. Casey MQ [too late for summer mix] and “galore”, featuring a contribution from French pop star Pomme and produced by Danny L Harle.
Since releasing “Galore”, oklou has also shared official remixes for Dua Lipa & Angele (“Fever”), Caroline Polacheck (“Door”) and Bladee (“Rainbow”). Her forthcoming autumn tour includes a suite of sold-out shows across Europe and an extensive support tour for Caroline Polachek in the US and UK as well. Both her Los Angeles (11.14) and New York (12.01) headline shows sold out in no time.
With an upbringing that combined classical music tuition and a deep connection to online culture, oklou — also known as Marylou Mayniel — steadily became an integral part of Europe’s underground music scene. Her debut EP, The Rite of May, was released on subversive club label NUXXE and she has collaborated with Mura Masa, Chynna, Sega Bodega, Pomme and more. Mayniel’s work has garnered widespread praise, with Pitchfork describing the EP as “electronic pop at its most suspenseful”.
