‘My World’ Prod by. S1 “Symbolyc One”
Texas bred Joe “Angel” Sauseda, a serious lyricist and a passion for music that dates back to the early 90’s Many will argue that some of the greatest music released was from the 90’s… Not a bad time to groom your passion, a seed was planted that molded into a bright musician
‘My World’ Prod by. S1 “Symbolyc One” Exposed Vocals Music Review
The track starts out with a repetitious tribal rhythm that flows seamlessly into the start of Joe’s epic wordplay that you will hear throughout the track. It’s obvious this talented artists is here to save rap and bring it back to the 90’s greatness with lyrics like ” The game needs nursing, so I got my scrubs on”
Joe keeps with the theme of the track “My World” and talks about how quickly it’s gone, but while it’s here; it’s his and he’s going to make the most of it. With lyrics like “This is my world, yall just living in it” Clearly, Joe has complete security of where he sits as an unsigned artist and wants the world to watch out because he is up and coming and all you can do is standby because nothing will stop him.
He talks about being 28 and he hopes to make it for his son, “with the help of these bars”. I can relate to a father that is willing to lay it all on the table for their kid. That natural instinct to protect and provide by all means is not one to be reckoned with.
It’s funny to think about how this young man started in the game with his finger on the gospel pulse, but when he heard Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony, Warren G and UGK; he knew that hip hop was his destiny. Not wasting any time, he rolled up his sleeves and started producing some HOT hip hop tracks. Took a swipe at moving to L.A; the trip that helped shape his future and pushed him in the direction he’s heading now.
Personally, what I respect most about this man is the fact that music comes first. Think about that. Music comes before money, networking, friends and so on. Because that is what it takes in this industry. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, and again…. If you’re here just for the money, you should just stop now… Check out Joe’s debut EP “So It Begins!” to hear more amazing hits that shed light on his relationships with music and how it gravitated him towards what is most important in life.

Exlusive Interview:
Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Got a couple of Twitter follows from exposed vocals and randy. Checked it out from there and liked what I saw. I saw the videos and just read up on everything. Feels like a great opportunity.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I grew up in a small town in Texas before moving to Waco, Tx. when I was 10. I grew up going to my uncles church in my early years. It was then when I became fascinated with playing the drums and I think that’s where it began. I had to be 4 or 5 years old. Shortly after I found my way into hiphop and rap. I came across UGK, bone thugs, and warren g tapes. From that moment it opened up for me. The stories, the coolness, and feel from it all. All of it was something awesome to me.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Just decided to use my own name. I wanna be remembered, and this is the name I was given, so I want people to know it.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
I think it’s great and it’s also important. Almost everyone is on the Internet and music sharing is the quickest way to reach a large audience with your music. Of course it matters how you go about doing it cause it just won’t move itself, but the opportunity is out there. I give away my music for free often and I also think it’s important to do that. You have to give to receive and people like free stuff. If you give them good quality music, they’ll want more and come back. They’ll also spread the word which expands your audience and fan base.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
You have to be willing to put in the work however that may be needed. There’s a lot of places that will give you AirPlay if they like the music and you follow the guidelines. Some charge a small fee of $5 or $10. You just have to be willing to do the research and find out which stations are willing to do. Same thing goes for gigs. There’s a lot of places out there that host open mic night, have shows during festivals, and even have certain nights dedicated to certain genres. So researching is good and also going to different venues and talking to whoever runs events there. Sometimes you have to pay so if your music means something, you’ll do it. Also if you’re like me, who lives in a city where there isn’t much opportunity to perform, you might have to travel. But again, if your music means something, you’ll do it.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
I have before and there were 3 reasons for that. Being nervous, unprepared, and doubt. After a couple of mistakes I had to analyze those things. First, being nervous is something that’s always gonna happen so you have to learn to deal with that. If you aren’t nervous then it’s not as exciting and meaningful. Second, those times I made mistakes I thought I was well prepared but I wasn’t. You can never be too prepared so practice and practice until it’s natural. Finally the doubt comes to play. I wasn’t doubting if the crowd would like my music. I was doubting if I would perform mistake free. You have to be confident and have that natural feeling. When I had to go through those mistakes on stage, i was fortunate to think quick on my feet and just freestyle until that was done.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
No not at the moment but I’m working on getting something lined up. When I do, then I’ll come back with something interesting ha.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
I gain inspiration from everyday things I go through or see. I love telling stories so that’s where they come from. As far as the process, it just has to come to me, has to be natural and can’t be forced. I try to write something everyday but sometimes it doesn’t work out that way. I like to wait until it hits me and I write something great, instead of writing something average.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Yes I do but I’m in the works of making changes. Sausedamusic.com so check it out in a few months for free music and merch. Soundcloud is probably my favorite for sharing music. Check me out on there as well, all of my tracks are available for free download. soundcloud.com/sausedamusic
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Haha there’s too many I can’t lie. We can go with pop music and I’ll just say, I grew up in the 90’s. You know what to expect with that.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
I would be a known artist that’s for sure. I spend so much time working cause music doesn’t pay much right now. So with that free time I would hit the road and be able to network and get more shows etc. Also as we all know it takes money to get PR and marketing campaigns so I would set up something good with that. Use my time and money wisely to further my career and take care of my family.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Not right now. I feel good about where I’m working and who I’m working with. I don’t personally do any recording but I’ve been apart of the process. I mainly mess with beats and instruments. I run pro tools on my Mac.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Networking works best for me! I research blogs and find contact info. I made a spreadsheet of all the blogs I’ve searched or have just come across. I keep in contact with them and try to build relationships. It’s important because these are the people that help get your music out there. Also a lot of blogs will post your music for as little as $5 so spending a little cash can go a long way. I also like to collab with other artists and producers because that helps reach their fan base which could potentially bring you new fans.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
That’s a tough one. Not sure about where but as far as performing with another artist.. Kanye west. He’s an artist that really motives me.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Yea I have a mixtape and an EP I’m working on. I’m working with multiple producers from different areas. Dallas, Brooklyn, Philly, Europe, Austin and Chicago are some of the different places so it’ll have a variety of different tracks and vibes. I’m also working with S1 “Symbolyc One” (Kanye West “Power” and many more) for my EP. The first track off of that is My World which has been released.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Music is all I’ll do so I don’t know.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Don’t remember which was the first I bought but the first cd I owned was G Funk Era by Warren G. He killed that album, loved it. Favorite song from it, This DJ.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
No sleep. Trying to be the best dad I can be comes first. So between my son, working a lot, and doing music, it gets crazy and tiring. But it’s something that keeps me going and I love it.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2015?
A lot of different sounds and great music! Bringing a lot of new things this year so be ready!!
