Music Review – Lisa Good – Happy World
The video for this track has a really laid back and easy going feel to it, the music that follows is loaded with good vibes and feel good melodies and lyrics. The lead vocal is beautiful, smooth and melodic, perfectly in keeping with the sound of the overall song, and yet with those wonderful inflections and subtle flicks of personality within the tone and the expression. There is always room for positivity and optimism in music and art, and this track touches on these ideals in a melodic and joyful manner.
The music sounds great, it feels like summer time, it has a catchy Happy World hook that stays with you long after the track has ended, the melody stays in your mind. The harmonies and the musicality of the whole track work together beautifully. The track has a lot of repetition but it’s one of those songs that really thrives on this, the sounds are all so happy and bouncy that they work together really well to create this wall of hope and positivity.
What’s also great about this one is that a whole bunch of different sounds, genres and cultures are combined to create the general ambiance throughout, and the scene that is set with the music. This again feeds into that positivity and optimism that is so important, and it has such an overwhelmingly powerful effect, for people to watch and listen to something of such a hopeful nature means they will take those feelings with them into their day, and into their world. It’s the power of music in the simplicity of combining those elements in just the right way. The song writing, the melody, the vocal, the harmonies, the instruments, the production, the rhythm. Everything works well together. It’s a great song, a great summer anthem.
