Music Review for S.Tailor – Microphone Dance Freestyle
Before you get to the vocal of this track, the music itself has the feeling of fusing a sort of classic dance track with a little of bit of 90’s UK Garage. It has that bubbly, bouncy vibe to it, which isn’t really found in modern music anymore. Half way through there’s a little flicker of a solo guitar, that electronically live sound, weaving it’s riff around the hook – the point at which you really get to feel involved in the music.
From now on the track is ramped up a few levels, the music changes quite drastically, there is still the flair of that piano, that bouncy beat, but now there are guitars, synths, and an alternative sound-scape comes out. All in the all, the track suits the title and concept of this pretty flawlessly. It sort of makes you want to do a microphone dance yourself, or at the very least – appreciate the one S.Tailor is doing. It feels very relevant, in a lot of ways, the artist makes a fair few references to cultural legends, giving him a little bit of an air of experience, whether it’s name dropping or attention to inspiration and influences, it has the effect of making him seem hugely involved in the music scene.
The vocal before the instrumental outro signifies the same sort of thing. You believe him, which is a good thing, and it makes the music feel a little bit more ‘now’. The track is hugely bassy, full of those good vibes, that summer feeling; the right time of year to put this out. Plus, S.Tailor’s vocal delivery is pretty stylish sounding, and really energetic – the whole thing gets you geared up for going out. The music is creative, a little of those retro games sounds come in towards the end, fusing pretty well with the guitar riff and the bass – quite unusual, but it definitely leaves it’s mark.
