Music Review and Interview with Christina Noor – Heavenly Magic
Heavenly Magic is a warm and catchy pop sounding song that has a very live and almost acoustic sound to it. It’s a love song, by all accounts, loaded with honesty and devotion; a very confessional piece of writing with a pop meets country musical vibe behind it. The idea of being in love is magnified and emphasized with the concept of someone being your Heavenly Magic – it adds to that basic idea of I Love You…
“it takes it to a whole new level, and you just know it would mean the world to whomever it was being performed or written for.”
The music throughout the track gives off a summertime, easy living and lazy days kind of mood.
The melody isn’t massively memorable, until that Heavenly Magic chorus kicks in – the high notes make for a really nice break from the norm, and of course this part gives the song that all important hook – that thing that people know and love a song for. You Are My Heavenly Magic repeats just enough times within the song for it to sink in, the melody and the rhythm and the notes all stay with you long after you’ve listened.
The bridge section is a break away from the norm, but apart from this it all feels very much like a musical poem. There do in fact seem to be two of these bridge type sections in this song – at just about five minutes in duration this is far longer than the average pop song or radio track. An instrumental break might have added a further and more interesting dynamic to the release, the music for the most part goes around and around, and it sounds really lovely, but it doesn’t break away from it’s pattern at any point. Again though, the song intentionally has that summertime feel to it, and I guess that fits with the whole jamming on the beach kind of vibe – the pattern and the rhythm is a comforting element for the most part.
