Music Review and Interview with Redd Da Killer Bee
Redd da Killer Bee has been doing music since his elementary years. Graduating from the violin, saxophone, onto songwriting (R&B/Pop/Hip-Hop), and becoming a Hip-Hop/Rap recording and performing artist brought RDKB into a new realm of music and moving more seriously in the entertainment industry.
RDKB is one who has always been influenced by himself, his own abilities, and his many talents. Although, outside of himself, Redd da Killer Bee shows and holds massive respect for selective acclaimed artists and innovators in their own rights. Janet Jackson, Lil’ Kim, Angelina Jolie, Mariah Carey, Ludacris, Walt Disney, Halle Berry, Stan Lee, Erykah Badu, P!nk, Bruno Mars, Ciara, and Katy Perry are just a few but majority of artists that RDKB gladly tips his crown to.
Towards the latter years of high school, RDKB began to seriously work on his music and work with others on their recordings. Once releasing single by single via Myspace, a fan base started to grow as Redd da Killer Bee did within the music industry. His first official single to be available for digital download was “Gone Shake It” in May of 2010. Performing around St. Louis gave him the energy to produce, record, and distribute a full-length album before the year ended.
After releasing his debut album, “Plain & Simple: Reprised“, in December of 2010,RDKB focused more on writing for other artists of different genres and growing more as a composer/producer. In 2013, RDKB remixed Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, and then began to work on his next solo project. “Nightmare on Redd Street” was released as the first single in spring 2014 and his EP, “En Garde” was released on July 1st.
In June of 2015, Redd released a new single, “Ambition” along with its dance remixes following in August 2015. Laying low until the New Year, “Caught in a Fantasy” (musically produced by Yonni), released January 8, 2016 and his sophomore album, “Birth By Sleep” will be everywhere February 26, 2016 to bring in the first quarter on the right start.
So, let’s talk about Red da Killer bee’s hot new single ‘Caught in a Fantasy’
(see official music video above)
The track kicks of with calm, peaceful, or tranquil lyrics like:
“I saw you once upon a dream / your spirit come to me and your sin but so serene”
Red da killer bee is a clearly talented individual on his way to stardom. His lyrics and style flow over these masterfully produced tracks. His vibe is strong and message is clear. The calling card of an accomplished musician…
‘Caught in a Fantasy’ is a satisfying romp through danceable beats and exciting landscapes. Red da killer bee differentiates himself from his industry counterparts by harnessing his heritage in a wholly authentic way.
Overall, this is a very well composed and performed modern track, that conjures a strong musical atmosphere with just a few sparse but effective musical elements. It is very relaxing, with an almost mesmeric quality that sustains throughout. I can highly recommend the music of Red da killer bee.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Redd Da Killer Bee: I grew up in North County of St. Louis, MO. I’ve always been into the arts. Drawing, sculpting, poetry, photography, graphic/web design, violin, and saxophone. Started doing Hip-Hop seriously in 07
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Redd Da Killer Bee: I was given the name ‘ Redd ‘ at birth. But since it’s the name of a Turkish band, I had to come up with something else for trademark purposes. Lil’ Kim is my favorite rapper and she’s the Queen Bee. So here’s Redd Da Killer Bee!
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Redd Da Killer Bee: I’m not against music sharing, but I don’t like giving my music away for free. I have a company and I handle business. Giving away free product doesn’t pay the bills.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Redd Da Killer Bee: Think big and keep going no matter what.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Redd Da Killer Bee: Of course. I forget my lyrics all the time. I just keep going. Jumbled and all.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Redd Da Killer Bee: Not yet. Still waiting on the USA to catch on to me. If not, I’ll be hitting overseas soon since that’s where the majority of my support comes from.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Redd Da Killer Bee: 99% of my inspiration comes from self. Random lines come to me and I write them down on spot. Later once I’ve written a full song, I describe the sounds I’m hearing to a music producer/beatmaker for a track for me to produce.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Redd Da Killer Bee: rdkb-online.com is my site. I share music on there, Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, and pretty much every digital store.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Redd Da Killer Bee: Not really sure. I listen to a little bit of everything from Country to K-Pop to Hip-Hop to R&B to Pop.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Redd Da Killer Bee: I’m never off. Always working on something…but I’d try to relax.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Redd Da Killer Bee: None that I know of. I go to my engineers studio.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Redd Da Killer Bee: Haven’t found the “right” way yet.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Redd Da Killer Bee: I’d love to open the Grammy’s. Start it off with a solo song, then transition to a collabo with Kim, then to a collabo with Luda, and end it with a sick Dance track with the goddess, Janet Jackson!
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Redd Da Killer Bee: With the single “Caught in a Fantasy” just releasing on the 8th, I’m promoting that until it’s time runs out. The album, “Birth By Sleep” will be out by the end of next month (February).
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Redd Da Killer Bee: I’m never only doing one or two things. If my plate isn’t full, I’ll probably go crazy.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Redd Da Killer Bee: The first album I bought was Aaliyah’s “One in a Million”. I was 7 and she was one of my favorite artists growing up. The 90s had the best everything.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Redd Da Killer Bee: Each day at a time. Breath and go.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Redd Da Killer Bee: “Birth By Sleep” and about 4 or 5 more singles supporting it! And more outside of music!
