Music Review for Coldplay Remix
As remixes go, this one has just the right amount of weight to it to really bring something new out in the music. It’s an odd one to get your head around at first, the arrangement of the beat in relation to the piano riff, the replaced vocal, but one thing is for certain and that is the sheer crash of the drops. Those big sections are exactly this, big, mighty, having the effect of throwing everything into full speed, triple speed even. The distorted synths smash into action, this immense wall of sound fills up any remaining space – or overtakes the sound-scape used by the band in the original. You forget pretty quickly what the song sounded like of it’s own accord, which I guess is an effective new track, though it still maintains it’s melody and that unforgettable riff – that Coldplay stamp.
What’s been done with this is the producer has taken the bright parts of the track and infused his own floodlight to make them shine even further. It took me a while to get used to the beat, the kick drum that resonates right from the start, but I came to recognise it as quite a classic 90’s sort of hit – shortly afterwards falling for the beat and the rhythm of the whole thing entirely.
It’s one that you warm to, definitely, I’m a fan the band’s song writing, but I’m not a massive fan of the overly ‘pop’ sound their tracks have had in recent years, so essentially this is the perfect way to experience their writing and their melodies. I really warmed to the vocal as well the more intently I listened. Then eventually the whole piece of music, the whole track is this fairly intense new work of art, so the effect is pretty impressive in the end.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Danny Spade: I am originally from New Canaan, Connecticut and spent the entirety of my childhood there. School was never my thing as I was typically found in the back of the classroom, except in music class. There I was attentive and very focused on doing my best. My first memory of wanting to become an artist was in the backseat of my Mom’s car. I just remember her listening to some oldie music and just really enjoying it, and there I realized I wanted to bring the same satisfaction to people.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Danny Spade: Well Danny has always been my nickname in school so that was easy. The definition of a spade is a sharp instrument used to break ground and I intend on doing so in the music industry.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Danny Spade: I think it’s great, it is an awesome way to find awesome new music. There is so much fantastic music out there for free. I have no problem giving away my music for free. Money should not be a barrier in hearing awesome music.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Danny Spade: I think it is important to reach out to artists that you look up to and try to gain their support. It can never hurt to send out a few emails and see where it goes. Also, keep doing your thing and someone will eventually hear it and enjoy it enough to give you a chance.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Danny Spade: All the time! I think it is natural for everyone to make mistakes. What’s most important is how you recover. Also, I prefer to laugh at my mistakes and try not to get down on myself for messing up.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Danny Spade: I do not tour currently, but am hoping to start touring once my album drops!
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Danny Spade: Where I usually get my inspiration is while in my friend’s apartment. I usually go outside and take inspiration from the nature around us. There is so much beauty out there just next to us and that just always gets me going.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Danny Spade: I do have a website which is, dannyspade.net. I usually use Soundcloud, Twitter and FaceBook to share my music. A YouTube channel will be added soon!
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Danny Spade: Well for one, Justin Bieber’s Baby, lots of Katy Perry and an occasional Britney Spears song lol
Danny Spade: I would use the money to build on my social platforms and my live show. That is of course after me and all of my friends get back from a nice sunny vacation!
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Danny Spade: I have no upgrades currently in mind, I am using a Mac Tower with Ableton Live and a lot of hardware to master my music.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Danny Spade: Finding people who are willing to support me. Reaching out to blogs and other artists who are in your lane. You often find lots of people in the same spot as you who are willing to give some support
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Danny Spade: Easy, I would choose Daft Punk and it would be in Paris. They have always been one of my biggest inspirations and I have always followed their music ever since I was young. Paris is also one of my favorite cities in the world.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Danny Spade: I have some new projects coming up with APEK ,Danyka Nadeau, Anna Yvette and Tara Louise! All who are incredible artists and need to be more recognized!
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Danny Spade: I would love to be an astronaut or an astronomer. The night sky has always been interesting to me and being to able to either see more out there or be able to research it would have been awesome.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Danny Spade: The first album I bought was either Good Charlotte or The Eagles. I was totally stoked at the time and I couldn’t be happier. Still listen to both of them to this day!
