“Where is your love” music review
Who is Al Vincent and why isn’t this track on the top 10 list of all of Americas Radio Stations? This is the first question I asked my self when Exposed Vocals sent me this track for review. ….Wow, this track blew my mind right away as Al has an amazing voice and the lyrics to this track touch a seriously personal vibe that I think most can relate to. Oh yeah, did I say he has an AMAZING voice?
So, about this track… Listen, men can get a broken heart too! Whether it’s on purpose or by mistake, it happens… This track tells the tale of a relationship gone wrong leaving us guessing…What went wrong?
“You really hurt me baby and you broke my heart when you left for another man”
Why do women leave when men feel everything was “O.K”? Was it the lack of passion or romance? For any relationship to be healthy we have to be healthy coming into it. Cheating is a sign you’re not, and thinking that you can cheat and “move on” like it never happened is simply foolish. You have decided to damage your relationship and those who love you. (Sorry! Had to get that off my chest)
Overall, this is an amazing track and worth way more than the buck download! You can purchase this track by going to
You can also stream some of Al’s other tracks via SoundCloud (Please see below)

Exclusive interview:
Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Al Vincent: I came across Exposed Vocals on twitter & as I was just about to release my Debut Single I thought I’d check them out. They had a fantastic website. Very clear & nicely laid out & I liked some of there interviews & write ups & how professional they are.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I grew up in Whetstone, north london & lived in a nice little flat up above Emma Buntons grandparents. I I made good friends with her brother & we went to karate together & on holidays & stuff.
I have always loved music from a young age, I remember sitting in my living room, when I was very little watching my mum & friends doing dance routines to various Motown tracks I loved it. And then Micheal Jackson hit with beat it, thriller & many others. I remember the little red tape cassette player I had. It meant the world to me. I then picked up the guitar from school & from an irish family friend & began to play singing and playing irish & pop music. One of my first songs learnt was “Dreams” by Gabrielle.
At a very young age when our family friend was performing on stage I would jump up & sing an irish song to a huge audience. It was nerve racking but felt good..At school I was in the choir & then after school In Oxford I wanted to go to the BRITS school, which was awesome. I decided to become an artist in the last 5 years as my voice has matured & many people told me I was good. I just love to play & sing & if people enjoy it. I should share my music.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Al Vincent: Well the name was quite an easy one. I didn’t really want to be anything but myself. My real name Allan white is also a famous drummer so I thought something more unique might be good. So I shortened my first name to al which i get called anyway & then added my middle name & voila there we have it.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Al Vincent: I think having the ability to share your music online is fantastic for new & already known artists. It gives us the opportunity to be heard by a wide audience. But there is so much music out there now it can get confusing. I always say less is more. People generally listen to artists by word of mouth. Free music is good but not so much like myself when you put a lot of time energy and money into something. I want people to know when they pay for something that they’re getting the best quality that I can provide along with releasing inspirational & meaningful songs. I do have plans to do charity tracks and donate my fans money to a worthy cause hopefully chosen by myself and them & I may also do giveaways at certain events.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Al vincent : Being a musician/artist these days you need to wear many hats, one minute your singing. Next minute your in marketing another your managing.
Really it’s important to get who you are as a band or solo artist refined & planned & really think outside of just your music & how people will view you & also what route you want to go. Planning is everything. Once that’s in place promoting yourself should be alot easier
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Al Vincent: Most Musicians/ Artists make mistakes when we perform, even if you play regularly. Getting up on stage can be quite nerving. Confidence & practise are everything. Confidence comes mainly in being comfortable with who you are & if I do hit a bum note I smile or pretend it never happened because more time no one in the audience will ever know anyway. If you stop and go “oh nooooo”. Then everyone knows. Unless every player has come in completely wrong. I had an experience like that at apartment 58 in London where we Could just not hear ourselves. Monitoring is important.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Al Vincent: I am not touring at the moment as I felt it was important to get my material together & recorded to actually tour with. I was performing before doing covers & got a bit bored of performing other people’s materiel. I can express my music & enjoy it alot more when it’s my own which means if I’m enjoying it my audience will too. I do plan to tour next year. I plan to do a UK tour a Europe tour. Asia & America
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Al Vincent : well usually I start with a nice riff on the guitar or a lovely sound/ chord structure on the piano & It literally spills out. Usually I go with my feelings about a subject but I also write specifically about a subject if I have not experienced it, using my imagination.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Al Vincent: Yes my website is www.al-vincent.com my music will be available on there aswell as iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, shazam & most other digital downloading sites. I’m also using social media facebook, twitter, MySpace, instagram all links are on my website.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Al Vincent: I think the only embarrassing songs you might find on there is me in my creative process and recording myself on my phone and hitting some funny notes with an uncertain song I’m writing. Going to have a listen now.. there’s a few lol
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Al vincent: I would travel to gain inspiration & be writing along the way. Visiting beautiful places & exploring life outside of what I know. I would invest the money into my music so that my fans could enjoy many more years of music.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Al Vincent: I would like to set up a more professional studio as I would like to write for other artists aswell as do film score and write for tv. So upgrading is definitely on the cards. At the moment I am writing out of my home studio which is a small nice little professional set up. I love using cubase 8. Couldn’t do without my mac & Adams AX7’s are really nice.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Al Vincent: Put yourself in your audiences shoes. How would you as a music lover find good new or established music. First point of call would be to look up on the Internet or to ask friends. For me word of mouth at the moment is the most powerful. Because once someone likes what you do then they will spread the word for you. Build relationships with your audience
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?Al Vincent: I would love to perform with Marvin gaye. Bob Marley & Lauren hill, in fact there’s so many people I would have loved to play with so many amazing singers & musicians. Just to have the experience of some of those guys touring the world with huge audiences. The energy & feeling of people coming together under one roof must be electric..
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?Al Vincent: Well my video for the single “where is your love” which I have just released will be coming out in a couple of weeks. Then to follow I have another great single called “It’s time” which is a lovely slightly more upbeat track.
Then in Sept/Oct I will release my album packed full of goodies.
Over the summer I will start performing the singles & some songs from the album. I plan to start a tour end of this year beginning of next of uk & over into Europe which will be fun. Currently building tour bus at the moment..
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Al vincent: Now there’s a very good question. There isn’t much else I would like to do to be honest. Apart from charity work & helping people with my practical skills. I’m very good at building fixing & making things
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Al vincent: Yes I remember buying my first album at Our Price in North Finchley and I believe it was Micheal Jackson album thriller. I was extremely excited & just simply could not wait to get home & put it on.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Al Vincent : With difficulty, it’s really not easy to be a musician as well as running my own business I come home in the evenings and continue to work on my music sometimes until midnight or even early hours of the morning. But I love it so much that I just don’t care for me it’s worth it. You have to be strong willed & very determined to make something of yourself in music. I force myself to work on my music rather than go out and party because once I know it’s out there there will be plenty of partying later.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2015?
Al vincent: Alongside my 2 singles & album to come I also have some great soulful funky house tracks to release & also working on another project which I can’t say anything about just yet but it’s gonna be good.
There will also be a number of performances that you can find on my website or social media sites. Just subscribe add me on facebook or leave your email for any upcoming singles/ album launches & events.
