“a lot of great energy and lyricism behind the music” Luchi Gunz – Everything Kolsher
The leading riff to this track is quite unusual, the instrumental choice stands out and the repetitive nature of the loop really weaves its way inside your mind.
It’s striking, you definitely would recognise the track for it’s backdrop, though it is a little distracting at times – perhaps because it’s been mixed so high during the production process. If you can listen past it, there’s a lot of great energy and lyricism behind the music.
The leading vocal has incredible flow, the performance is quite mesmerising at times, the energy is consistently high and it gives the track a fairly energising vibe that will hopefully inspire enthusiasm in listeners. The hook is not a melody but a rap lead chorus, though it’s a reasonably strong chorus regardless – the lines repeat enough times and with a greatly relevant rhythm so it all stays with you long after listening.
The beat is fairly unexpected as well, the drum sound has an industrial ambiance to it, not the classic thickness of hip-hop, but something quite creative and new. All of these things together mean that the track does stand out a fair bit among its peers.
There’s no particular lyric or line that you’re likely to remember for long after just a single listen, if anything it’s that riff that will refuse to let go when the song has finished. But still, you’d know the song if you heard it again, and the leading vocal has a specific sense of character that is likely to reach out to people and encourage them to want to listen to whatever’s being said.
The concept and title of the track is also fairly memorable, so all in all there’s a lot that works well about the release.
