“It’s massively high in energy” – ‘Fuse Em’ by Miranda Writes feat James Coole prod By Herb Middleton
This track has something pretty new and unpredictable about it. There is a familiar sound to it at times, of course, there are hints of inspiration, but for the most part, right from the opening few moments – there’s a hugely unexpected level of energy to the music; there’s a sense of speed and urgency that is not often heard in a lot of hip-hop or r&b. This element of surprise and character is pretty consistent throughout the track as well, so you’re never left feeling disappointed or let down.
Miranda has a style that is pretty unique, and this, when fused with the heaviness of that musical backdrop makes for something fairly brand new sounding. There’s a manic sort of ambiance to the track, it’s massively high in energy, musically, yet the leading vocal has a calm and cool sort of confidence to it. The performance comes across as very natural. There’s a sense of immediacy, the riffs and the general backdrop to the whole song give off an almost haunting vibe, but the vocal part sounds very effortless and easy to listen to.
The stylish presentation of lyrics has a smooth and believable sound to it – nothing seems forced or out of place, it just all fits really well within the walls of the track. It’s a strong example of something that sounds like exactly what the artist should be doing. There’s a lot of influence in there, for sure, but it’s overpowered by the freshness. The structure of the song in itself is something quite unusual, the drop from the intro to the overall rhythm of the music sets the scene immediately, and what follows keeps on with the creative production.  The producer of the track has added an energy that works really well alongside the artist’s leading lyricism and performance.
