Indoe – Deep (Official Music Video)
What do Beyoncé, Destiny’s Child, Lauryn Hill, Pink or Wyclef Jean have in common? “INDOE”!
While listening to any of these of these artists, you would be surprised to know you may have been hearing the thoughts and words of a young girl named Indoe. Raised in Hermosa Beach, CA before relocating to Montclair, NJ Indoe found her footing as a very young girl doing background vocals for rap legends like Big L and MC Lyte before she was even old enough to drive.
Indoe soon signed to Redzone/Dreamworks at a very young age by Grammy-winning producer Tricky Stewart (Rihanna ‘Umbrella,’ Beyoncé ‘Single Ladies [Put A Ring On It], etc.). She found herself in the studio with the likes of Pink, Destiny’s Child, Kandi Burruss and many others who would benefit from her melodic, creative, and lyrical contributions.
Fast forward to over 20 million records sold between all the artists she’s worked with. Now is the time to let people hear her thoughts and words from her voice. Spearheaded by Don O owner of DLK Entertainment, with consulting by Indie A&R and songwriter Xone, DEEP by Indoe is available for purchase on all streaming platforms, and the video is currently available on YouTube.
Music Review for ‘Deep’
Indoe delves into an introspective vibe on the thoughtful “Deep”. Such a lush sound pours through it, as Indoe combines elements of R&B, hip-hop, and dubstep into a stream of consciousness style. By far the true soul comes from Indoe’s commanding flow, which has a freewheeling approach to it. Melodically dense, Indoe creates a swirling sea, giving it an almost dreamy presence at times. Lyrics try to focus upon what it means to truly know oneself, how to understand each other, and doing it with a tremendous amount of flair. All of this feels perfectly framed by an infectious, soothing groove that drives the whole track forward.
A chilled out nostalgic open begins the piece. Letting the song come into bloom quite quickly, the whole piece feels so expansive. Her voice has a fiery passion to it, one that exudes a sense of defiance. By lending these words an edge to them, Indoe allows the whole message to gain a tremendous uplifting spirit to it. Storytelling focuses upon the idea of rising above, to improve oneself disregarding those trying to bring others down. Various little flourishes flow in and out of the mix, lending it an organic quality to it. Nearly geometric in shape, the entirety of the track becomes positively massive. Towards the finale the entire piece slowly fades away from view in a fantastic blur of sound.
With “Deep” Indoe proves to be a master at creating an intelligent, highly insightful sort of pop.
