“far exceeds expectations” Martech Feat Stella Esmeralda C. Outopia
This track comes complete with an intro that far exceeds expectations. The set up is quite epic, the track that follows is kind of what you’d hope for in this case as well – the idea of a happy hardcore dance track was what first occurred when witnessing the intro. The song though, in actual fact, is much more mellow than predicted. In many ways, it’s a pleasant surprise to listen to it, there’s a wonderfully dreamlike ambiance that is always enjoyable to listen to, and the leading vocal driving the melody and the lyrical ideas and images is soft yet confident enough to really carry the tune to where it needs to be.
Structurally, the song evolves in a number of fairly original ways, and towards the end it really does become that high energy, happy hardcore dance tune you may have expected initially. Those synths that come into play work beautifully. There’s a feeling of nostalgia in the sound, the sound of the nineties revisited, but it works well right now. The optimism and the positivity given off by these instrumental choices and these effects enhances the gift of the music, and really helps build up a sound scape that fits the whole idea of the song effectively.
There are not a huge amount of artists making this type of music these days, so it’s a pleasure to hear something done in this manner, and so well produced. The epic introduction to the track and video also adds to the effect, and reminds you how much thought and effort really goes into making the music. If there’s anything to be taken away from the track it’s the feeling you get from those synths and from that energy that passes on to you as you listen. That’s a great feeling to leave amongst an audience.
