Exposed Vocals sits down to an interview with Lil Brandoe
Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Lil Brandoe: A friend told me about it. He said it was a way to promote your music, he said that they interview you with questions. So i looked you guys up on twitter, and i seen that you have promoted music and did interviews for other people. And i thought that might be a good way to promote my music.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Lil Brandoe: I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. I decided to become an artist because the friends i had there would always freestyle on instrumentals. I wouldn’t because i thought that i wouldn’t be any good at it. And one day i was in my room, and decided to put on an instrumental, and try to freestyle. At that moment i fell in love with rapping. At that time I was age 14.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Lil Brandoe: Well back in my old neighborhood in Indianapolis, I wrote a rap, and I had a group of friends that finally heard me rap. Everybody loved it and, and they all started calling me Little Brandoe. About a month later, the whole neighborhood started calling me Little Brandoe. So I decided to use that for my rap name.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Lil Brandoe: I personally like online sharing, because its been getting my music a lot farther then it would be if I didnt use online music sharing. Yes, i do give my music away for free. I give it away for free at the moment because i haven’t completely advanced at music. So i dont want to try and make people buy my music, unless i’m fully advanced.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Lil Brandoe: Of course. What I did was, I shared my music everywhere. Facebook, Soundcloud, Twitter, even did screenshots and posted on Instagram. Then I followed producers, record labels, you know, like def jam and that type of stuff on twitter, facebook, and other social media networks. I’d tag them in the post and message them about my music. Another thing is, i’d have friends that had contact or new people like producers and record labels, and music promoters. after doing all of that for a while, sooner or later somebody will hit you up about your music, involving airplay and gigs.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Lil Brandoe: Oh yeah, doesnt everybody? Its very hard to be perfect like Eminem. If i mess up, I just keep going. i dont stop in the middle of the song, and tell everybody i messed up. No, i just keep on going.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

I’m pretty embarrassed about my song “Off Dem Streets” also “Drill Time (remix)” and “Supreme”. Almost every other song, I’m pretty confident about.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it
Lil Brandoe: I’d probably go to Hawaii, and go there for the year. Buy nice clothes, go to the beach. Possibly buy a new car. Go to nice restaurants. I would do so many things I’ve never got to do before. I’ve always wanted to go skydiving. That would defiantly be one thing i would do.

Lil Brandoe: Honestly, i’d probably be doing youtube videos about mysteries, theory’s and gameplay. If i wasn’t doing that, then I probably wouldn’t be doing anything with my life. That’s why i love music so much, because its seriously the only thing i can relate to. It’s a stress reliever, and gets my mind off of things.
