With her alluring warm nature and colored hair Memphis singer/songwriter and rapper Ski Arnell has been working her way towards the top as well as our hearts with her catchy flirty hooks, edgy spunky verses and popping attitude
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Ski: I grew up in Memphis TN, me and my mom used to sing Luther Vandross all the time when I was little like I remember I would put on a full show to my mom and whoever was around at the time. It was fun to me, I probably was 5 or 6 but after I performed in my school’s play that was when I was sure this is something I wanted to do forever now my part wasn’t huge or anything but it was enough to me.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Ski: You know I’m still looking into that but what I’ve recently found out is that having relationships and supporting Dj’s will open up doors for you sometimes
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Ski: ALL THE TIME but I kinda just play it off and keep it going though
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Ski: I’ve never been on tour yet but hopefully that will change this year
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Ski: Well right now I record at One Sound Studios in my city and it works for me right now
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Ski: Ummm I would say Youtube, Soundcloud and Instagram works best for me
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Ski: Madison Square Garden with Aaliyah! It’s always been a dream of mine to be able to perform there and Aaliyah is one of my favourite female artist so it’s only right
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Ski: Right now I’m working on my EP King Skza that I’m releasing soon exclusively produced by Lambeau ( Wave God) one of my favorite producers out of Texas.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Ski: I would probably go to acting school I want to act too
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
Ski: My supporters should look forward to the release of my EP King Skza coming to all streaming sites
Exposed Vocals: Any Shout-outs?
