Exposed Vocals just sat down with Mississippi Rapper, Chris Wallace
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Chris Wallace: Im from this small city called Columbus, Mississippi. In 2012, I lost a couple people that were real close to me. Which made me move to Tennessee to move with my pops. Think that’s when I got into making music. Dealing with that shit. Lol
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Chris Wallace: know this shit my sound cliché, but just keep at it. And never forget the reason why you’re making music in the first place.
But to make it? And be famous and all that? I will say this.. talent is not enough. Let that sink in for just a moment.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Chris Wallace: hell ya I do. All the time. It’s easy for an artist that’s rapping to cover them mistakes up a little better than the ones who sings. I just laugh it off, interact with the crowd( making it seem the mistake was on purpose) and I keep going.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Chris Wallace: Last little tour I was on, my last stop was Austin, Texas. SXSW. Ain’t gone lie G, didn’t matter if I was touring or doing shows locally,
Everyday was wild.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Chris Wallace: yes, in the process of building a studio with my brother EV.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Chris Wallace: Facebook ads, Instagram, tiktok, and being on foot with it. Interacting with people.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Chris Wallace: Artist Rolling Loud with Curren$y and Mac Miller. With special guest of Larry June, Premo Rice, Wiz Khalifa…. I can slick keep going, but I’m not trying to give out any ideas if I ain’t getting paid for them. Lol
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Chris Wallace: ya I just dropped a couple singles not to long ago. “Feel Like Ye” and “ New Approach” FT. LangatonHues.
“Feel Like Ye” going dummy though. Lol and to say I made that shit off BandLab. Lol sounds good though.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Chris Wallace: Welding.. like I’m doing now…. I’m cooking too, but I’m trying to get away from that shit. Been cooking for a little too long.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
