Exposed Vocals just sat down for an interview with musician Terry Lysander
Growing up as a native of Baltimore Maryland in the early 90’s as a young man. Terry spent a lot of time just like any other kid with 5 other siblings going to school in the city and working hard as a teenager to survive . He can remember his mom keeping us in church twice a week Sundays all day & Wednesdays night bible class choir and band rehearsals. To keep them Inspired to be something good in life. Terry was inspired into the world of music by his mom & dad early at age 7 by playing the trombone in the band. It wasn’t until later as Terry got older he started out playing in the church band. Then later Terry was asked to join a vocal christian group Regeneration. Even in his high school years , Terry always followed his passion even by sometimes skipping an academic class or two. Terry could be found in the music room playing music with band director Mr Brown or in choir room with Miss Gardner classical piano teacher.
Everyone thought Terry would be as vocally talented as his oldest sister. However, Terry did not realize this until later in life at age 19 that he had indeed been blessed as a singer.
He remembers the first time sitting in a talent show packed to capacity. His sister was up to sing, she was singing Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you”. He was only in the 9th grade at the time. But the minute she began singing, It was like the light bulb went on Terry in his own words. “I could not stop crying and knew what I wanted to do when I grew up. Is to inspire people from all cultures through music. Well it wasn’t until years later after graduating high school
Terry began his journey through life’s many turns. At age 23 Terry met and married his wife now Paula then moved to Tampa Florida where they have 3 beautiful daughters that are now in college.
Terry became more musically inspired when he was surrounded by some of music’s industry leaders today. Terry had the experience of serving in the local church & singing background vocals for now Pastor, Actor Producer, “Javen”. Several years later after that season came to a close. Terry began leading worship at Christian family Church tampa at the time under Pastor Rob & Jennifer Mallan. Even while leading worship in church Terry never gave up on his dream of being a Christian Recording Artist.
Since 2006 with his first 5 song demo release;“Music from Within;” A musical collaboration project with; I.G.P. “In God’s Presence Production Company”. Terry has released a couple other singles; “That’s Love” “Need Your Love” “ Give God Praise” 5 song Indie project “Start Of A New Journey”. Terry found himself in the local church working and leading worship in the community. This opportunity gave him the experience with working alongside some of Tampa’s religious leaders and musicians.
Since then, Terry has been spending time in his own studio working on his craft. In his own words.
“This music is something you know that God has given you when you wake up every morning. It’s the only thing you think about.” Yet through all of life’s challenges one is still inspired to go on, write more, produce more. My best songs came during the hard times. In his own words, “Man it’s like the pen can’t write fast enough!” “The power to the computer can’t power up fast enough to add a new guitar or drum track, man I’ve been waiting so long for this! I cannot wait to get this music out for the world to hear. I know it’s for this generation the noise from life doesn’t stop yet the songs keep on coming!
Yep, Thank You Lord for giving us this 2nd Chance!”
So excited and enjoying every moment Terry Is Back in the studio preparing for multiple Album Releases “Stoney Heart” & “Niagara Falls” A Propria Of Love”.
Yep, Thank You Lord for giving us this 2nd Chance!”
